    Hi, I run into a problem. I have posts opening with a fullwidth easy slider. When translating the page with WPML, the slider is resized within the main container size (in my case set at 1310px). I checked with the WPML support and they also couldn’t come up with a solution. We tried also to upload the them in a sandbox and added a simple fullwidth slider: the issue occurred also there.

    Do you have any clue?

    At the moment I can fix it by a very boresome solution which consists in opening again the default language page, changing a charcater and then updating the translation. At that point the slider on the translated page gets its full width.
    Thanks

    Hey Elena,

    Could you post a link to where we can see the problem you are having please?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard, you can check to this page and its translation https://www.yourapartmentinvenice.com/apartment/ca-frezzeria/
    You will need the login details in private, since right now the site is on maintenance mode

    Hi,

    Thank you for the info.

    Looks like the translated page is using the default page template even when the original page is built using the Advance Layout Builder (ALB). Did you manually edit the translated page before? It gets fixed or it shows the correct layout when we manually update the translated page directly in the builder instead of using the default translation editor. Is this happening on a lot of pages?

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    hi I use the WPML translation editor, as recommended by WPML documentation. I use the classic one, as the I am not used to the advanced and it messed up a little bit the acf fields.

    It happens on any post and also pages.

    By the way Ismael I tried one more thing: I had a copy of the website on my local desktop without WPML. I installed the WPML and set it up in a basic way (I didn’t set translation for the acf fields yet) and simply translated the home page. The translated version presented a sidebar, exactly in the same manner it happened on the test sandbox made with the guys from WPML.
    As you say, the issue doesn’t appear if I translate manually the page from within the Layout Builder. However other issues appear, such as the settings of columns (margins/padding etc) are completely messed up in all languages

    This seems to be a sort of conflict between Enfold and WPML. Which is strange as I use WPML in other websites built with Enfold and never faced this problem. I urgently need some help because I have to finish this work. Thanks

    Hi Ismael I still have the same problem. In parallel I am checking this out with WPML guys who still didn’t figure it out. We tested on a new brand wordpress installation and the same issue came out. Could you be of help?
    Here the link to the video I made showing my workflow, just for your information

    Hi,

    Sorry for the delay. We created a few private test posts and pages in your installation and the issue occurred on all of them. Unfortunately, we are not sure why the translated pages do not inherit the editor or builder status from the original page and why it still uses the default template. We will forward the issue to our channel. For the meantime, please try to update the translated page manually directly in the builder to fix the layout issue.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Thanks Ismael. I am afraid it must be some incompatibility between the new versions of Enfold and WPML. I will go on updating the pages manually while waiting for some updates

    Hi,

    There is an open thread for this particular issue in our channel but we haven’t found a fix for it yet. We will update you once a solution has been found. Please manually edit the items temporarily.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismael have you any updates about the problem above? I saw that you just issued a new version of Enfold (4.9.2) but from the changelog there’s nothing regarding the WPML incompatibility. I also know that WPML team is also working on it (I hope).

    Hi,

    Unfortunately, there is no fix for this as of yet but we already opened an issue with WPML, which you can find in the link below.

    // https://wpml.org/errata/enfold-content-width-is-not-the-same-on-translated-pages/

    Thank you for your patience.

    Best regards,

    ok thanks

    Ismael I am worried that the topic will not be solved. Look at the answer I have received from WPML https://wpml.org/forums/topic/enfold-fullwith-slider-widget-changes-layout-on-new-posts/page/3/#post-10915587

    #1346733

    Hi,

    We are in contact with the WPML compatibility team and are working on a solution.
    Thank you for your patience.

    Best regards,
    Günter

    Thanks Günter for the quick reply! In the meanwhile WPML people suggested the following workaround that I have to test
    Replace the following line (wp-content\themes\enfold\config-wpml\config.php – LINE 794)

    add_action( 'wpml_pro_translation_completed', 'avia_wpml_sync_avia_layout_builder_meta', 10, 3 );

    With this:

    add_action( 'wpml_pro_translation_completed', 'avia_wpml_sync_avia_layout_builder_meta', 1000, 3 );

    Hi,

    As far as I could check the fix provided by WPML seems to solve the problem.

    We will add it to our next release.

    Best regards,
    Günter
