    Good evening
Because I am still newbie with the Enfold theme, I am testing possibilities with the Enfold default theme https://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/

The last time I wanted to start from scratch, I did as described here https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-database-reset/.
I downloaded the database reset plugin. After that, nothing worked for me under wordpress.com as I had apparently locked myself out as admin. I am at wordpress.com and not at wordpress.org and they also do the hosting. Is it maybe because the plugin did not work for me?

But to the actual question. What is the easiest and fastest way to delete the demo installation if I want to try other demos? Thanks for the help.

    Hey NIck,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

You might have accidentally included the users in the reset. Please make sure to only reset the themes, posts, posts meta and other options.

You can also try this plugin.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

Thank you for the quick reply!
To understand the system even better. I have an additional question. What about demos with few pages. If I just delete the pages, would that have the same effect or would there still be files floating around?

I have since installed both plugins and they keep getting disabled. Now I got the following message on the overview page…:

“wordpress-database-reset” has been deactivated, it deletes data necessary to manage your site and is not supported on WordPress.com.”

How else can I proceed to solve everything

    Hi NIck,

We’re not that familiar with wordpress.com hosting unfortunately, you might want to reach out to their support for clarification and further help. Deleting pages manually in WordPress won’t leave any extra files, but there might be records left in the database.

    Best regards,

Ok, thanks for the info. I see that I am relatively inflexible with wordpress.com and would have been better off using my own hoster such as siteground.

    https://www.siteground.com/wordpress-hosting.htm

If I want to try this on a trial basis with another hoster with a different domain, do I need another Enfold license or can I try it this way?

    Hi,
This should be ok on a testing domain with your current license.
I would recommend the regular web hosting instead of Managed WordPress Hosting and not their “special” WordPress install, because as with many hosts the Managed WordPress Hosting include a customized install that forces jQuery into the footer & removes the option for you to control it yourself, it also adds so ModSec filters that can make importing demo difficult and installs a “must use” caching plugin with a lazy load option that is based on Smush which has some issues right now, so disable this option.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Thanks for the support.

If I have now understood correctly, I would not need another license to test Enfold on two different domains and it would be better to install and run WordPress itself with a hoster.

Then I need time to redo everything and decide on a hoster at best. I’ll think about the further procedure and I’m sure I’ll contact WordPress.com about deleting the database and about the plugins.

And I have to say, you guys have great support here. Fast, competent and reliable. Can support questions actually be asked in German, or rather in English?

    Hi,

Great, I’m glad that we could help you out, and thanks for the kind feedback.

You can ask your questions in German, but none of the moderators are native German speakers, so we would have to translate your messages. If you can, then please continue to communicate in English.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
