Dear community, developers
I have ENFOLD 4.8.7.1 and I have a structure with portraits of athletes. One athlete, one post. I would like to duplicate a post and create a new athlete by keeping the same structure. To this end, I use “Save Entry As Template”. This is allowed, but as soon as I create the new post with “Add new”, try “Load template”, the entry I just saved has simply disappeared. Can you help?
Thanks Daniele

Thanks for contacting us!
Could you please create temporary admin logins and post them here privately so we can look into it? :)
Best regards,
YigitFebruary 2, 2022 at 4:29 pm #1338502Ok, find it please in the private content. Note that the problem is in “Posts”

February 2, 2022 at 4:58 pm #1338514Hi,
Could you please point out the name of your template as well and the original post which the template is based on? There are many and I could not find the one :)
Regards,
YigitFebruary 2, 2022 at 6:40 pm #1338525Sure. Find enclosed the link to the original post. When I edit it, I try to “Save the entry as template” using the enhanced editor. But then, once saved, the template disappears. So the problem is that this template is not available in the list when I create a new post.
February 3, 2022 at 3:03 pm #1338709Hi,
Thanks for the information!
I tried saving your post as a new template but that did not work. I tried copy & pasting shortcodes of your post into a private post but that did not work either.
Have you tried de-activating all active plugins to check if that makes a difference? In my opinion the issue is either plugin or server related.
Best regards,
YigitFebruary 3, 2022 at 5:22 pm #1338747Hi.
So. I deactivated all plugins —> no success.
I also tried saving a single element as template like a layout element with content. That worked and I an also reuse it. How can it be “server-related” then?
Only saving the whole post as template does not work.February 4, 2022 at 7:15 am #1338819Hi,
Thanks for the update.
A new version of the theme is available on Themeforest and this might help fix the issue with the templates. Would you mind updating Enfold to version 4.8.9 first and WordPress to version 5.9? The current WordPress version in your installation is 5.8.3.
Best regards,
IsmaelFebruary 4, 2022 at 9:34 am #1338835Hi, Thanks for the suggestion. I updated Enfold and WordPress, but the behavior stays the same. May I ask you if saving a post as template does work in YOUR websites?
February 4, 2022 at 1:09 pm #1338895Hi,
Thank you for the update.
We had to disable the Performance > File Compression settings and purge the cache for it to work correctly. Please make sure to purge the cache on your end. We saved the content of a page as template and named it “3 Columns Template” and successfully applied the same template to another page, which we linked in the private field.
Best regards,
IsmaelFebruary 4, 2022 at 5:04 pm #1338931Thanks Ismael, but what you did is to save a template from a “PAGE”. My problem is with a “POST”. With PAGE it works, but with POST not. Can you check with POST? I purged cache etc.
February 7, 2022 at 4:40 am #1339265Hi Daniele,
Sorry about that. It seems to work fine on a new post as well — link in the private field. You may need to recreate the post from scratch before attempting to save the content again as template.
Best regards,
IsmaelFebruary 7, 2022 at 1:30 pm #1339350Thank you so much! I found the (incredible) problem.
In a text block I had included an emoticon of a shark ( 🦈 )This caused the error in retrieving the saved template. Now it works… :-D
