Hi
I’ve worked with WooCommerce support and have identified an issue when the Enfold Child theme is activated while creating a new variable product – the quantify field is not displaying on the single product page. Here’s a snapshot of the last email exchange I had with WooCommerce on this issue:
“I have created a staging area where I disabled all plugins expect WooCommerce core and activated the Twenty Twenty One default WP theme. I still see the issue.
…
I was able to successfully access your site’s admin area with these credentials. While there, I noticed that all products experiencing this issue appear to be either sold in specific measurements (e.g. by the inch, by the centimeter). Other products that are sold individually, like Roll-up Inverted Tube Bead in Polished Sterling Silver 6x9mm, have quantity fields on both the staging site and the live site.It appears as though the issue is only affecting variable products. However, when I created the Woo Test variable product on the staging site, the quantity field is available:
https://d.pr/i/TaE0Qt
Full Size: https://d.pr/i/TaE0QtThis likely means that the issue arises upon product creation. At this point, it’s hard to determine if the issue originates with a plugin or theme conflict. To get to the bottom of what might be causing the issue, I would recommend that you:
Enable the Enfold Child theme on your staging site first.
Create a new variable product.
See if the quantity field is still visible on the new product. If the quantity field is not visible, the issue happens when variable products are created while the theme is active. …….
I recommend starting with the theme because inspecting products without the quantity field show that the field is hidden:https://d.pr/i/Qs2UgL
Full Size: https://d.pr/i/Qs2UgLThe most likely place for this type of customization to occur is with the theme, but it is possible that there is a plugin that is hiding this field instead.”
You can use the same login as woosupport if you wish:
December 3, 2021 at 7:56 am #1331403Hey tremblayly,
Thank you for the inquiry.
Based on screenshots above, none of the product options were selected, which was probably why the input fields are still hidden. We know that the input fields (quantity, add to cart etc) should be visible by default, but a plugin or a shop extension might be hiding the fields or adding the class name “hidden” to the container, and only toggle their visibility once the user adjusted the product options. Did you install any shop extensions?
We may need to inspect the site in order to understand the issue further. Please provide the variable product URL in the private field.
The quantity input fields are displaying correctly on a demo product, as shown in the screenshot below.

IsmaelDecember 3, 2021 at 4:24 pm #1331483Hi Ismael,
Here’s are couple product URLs
All plugins are disabled except for WooCommerce, so there are no shop extensions.
When a variable product is created while the ENFOLD theme is disabled, i.e. the product created by WooCommerce support tech: https://silviastaging.wpengine.com/product/woo-test then the issue is not present.
When I created a variable product once the ENFOLD theme is enabled, that’s when the issue appears.
Hope this helps. Thanks
LyseDecember 6, 2021 at 6:39 am #1331664Hi,
Thank you for the update.
The theme contains a script that creates two buttons (+|-) for the default quantity field but it does not interfere with the product creation. All configurations or adjustments for the shop plugin can be found in the config-woocommerce > config.php file and you will not see anything related to variable product creation. Most of the adjustments are related to the product templates.
Would you mind posting a login account? We would like to test it further. We may need to deactivate the theme temporarily and use one of the default themes.
Best regards,
IsmaelDecember 6, 2021 at 3:50 pm #1331724Hi Ismael,
Temporary login credentials have been created and available in the private content.
This is a staging site so feel free to deactivate the theme.
Thanks

Any update on this issue. We have a few customers reporting this issue, so would like to get it resolved ASAP.
Many thanks
LyseDecember 10, 2021 at 10:34 am #1332265Hi,
Thank you for the update.
The quantity buttons are not displaying on those products because the Inventory > Stock Quantity value is already set to 1. When we changed the value to 2 or more, the buttons displayed back. (see private field)

IsmaelDecember 10, 2021 at 5:21 pm #1332362Hi Ismael,
For variable products, in WooCommerce I “Enable stock management at product level” and stock quantity to “1”. All of the child variations I “Enable stock management” and set the stock quantity there. We use a third party, Solid Commerce, to manage and sync all of our WooCommerce websites and other marketplaces inventory and prices. They need the parent stock enabled and a value a 1 in stock to sync correctly. This is working well after months of testing. Weeks ago we just encountered this issue with the theme. It used to work. In talking with WooCommerce support, the products are setup correctly.
Thanks
LyseDecember 14, 2021 at 4:08 am #1332682Hi,
Thank you for the info.
The buttons are displaying properly when we increase the quantity of the product, which makes a lot more sense in terms of stock management. Unfortunately, we are not familiar with the Solid Commerce extension and how they manage the product inventory, and as you may already know, we do not provide support for third party extensions as stated on our support policy. Please keep in touch with the plugin developers for additional help with the issue.

IsmaelDecember 14, 2021 at 4:23 am #1332683Hi Ismael,
But why should we have to increase the parent level stock to more than 1 to make this work. The actual stock is at the variations level not the parent. I may have to revert back to WooCommerce support because this should work.
BTW Solid Commerce is not an extension, it’s a global inventory management system for marketplaces.
Thank you so much

Thank you for that info. Just goes to show that we are not familiar with the plugin. Please keep in touch with the developers for additional help.

IsmaelDecember 16, 2021 at 5:13 pm #1333157Hi Ismael,
The problem seemed to have resolved itself on the production site. I’m not sure what changed, but just happy it works.
Thank you for all of your help and you may close this ticket.
LyseDecember 17, 2021 at 7:33 am #1333202Hi,
