I uploaded folders enfold and enfold-child to my WordPress site via ftp. Both are showing in the WordPress dashboard under Design / Themes. However, I can’t activate either of them. I get the following message immediately (translation from German):
There was a critical error on your website. Please check your site administrator email inbox for further instructions.

I don’t habe problems switching between default WordPress themes.

Can you try to check if there’s an error_log file on your root directory? it may contain useful information related to the issue.
Otherwise try to re-upload the theme files as some of it may have been missing during the transfer.Best regards,

indeed, some folders were not extracted from the zip when unzipping. It works now. Thanks a bunch!
