    Hi there,

    I’ve created this website:

When I want to update the homepage after making changes, this will take several minutus and sometimes I got a timeout message.
Strange because on other pages this is not happening.

    Any idea?

    Thanks in advance, Jeroen

    Hi Jeroen,

I’m not sure why, but I’m getting this error message after saving your home page:

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/p201223/domains/yoursite.com/public_html/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1977
Er heeft zich een kritieke fout voorgedaan op deze site. Controleer je site beheerder e-mail inbox voor instructies.

It might help if you adjust the max execution time value on your server. You could also try copying the page to a new page, to see if that helps. You would need to enable debug mode in order to copy the shortcodes from a page to another page: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/intro-to-advanced-layout-builder/#debug-mode.

If you need further help, then please share server error logs with us.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,

I am opening this case because we are again encountering problems with the website.

As you suggested last time, I copied the homepage and this did indeed fix the problem.

Now we are having serious problems editing and updating the following page: https://sterlingholmes.com/nl/vacatures/
I’ve already deactivated all plugins to see if the problem disappears, but unfortunately to no avail.

Could you thoroughly investigate where the problem might be?

    Thank you in advance, Jeroen

    Hi,
Thank you for the link to your site, I’m not sure what you are having problems with on your page, when I check I see the text is white so it doesn’t show easily
    2021-12-11_016.jpg
but when you open the text block element and use the text tab you will see the text:
    2021-12-11_017.jpg
If you applied the style via your Quick CSS instead of in-line you would see the text in the back end and on the frontend it would still be white.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
    that’s not the problem.
We run into the following 2 problems:
    1) when I want to modify the page, I don’t see Enfold’s page builder.
    2) Sometimes I manage to edit the page, but when I try to update, I get an error message: A critical error has occurred on this site.

The solution that Rikard suggested earlier for the homepage works, but now that the problem is reappearing on this page, I have the idea that something else is going on. I don’t think it works to keep duplicating pages to solve this kind of problem.

Could you please look into this properly?

    Thank you in advance, Jeroen

    Hi Jeroen,

Could you please point out the page where you are having this issue? I checked your homepage but I am able to use ALB and also to update the page. I attached a screenshot in private content field below :)

    Best regards,
    Yigit

    Hi,
Thanks for the feedback, when I login I see the builder, see the screenshot in the Private Content area, but when I try to update the page I get an 500 Internal Server Error, as this is a server response try checking your server logs to see if there are any clues. I would recommend disabling unnecessary plugins such as your iThemes Security, Limit Login Attempts, etc to ensure they are not causing the error and then test again.
I was able to copy your page to my test site and didn’t receive any errors so I don’t think it is the content or the builder, is this only occurring on this page or others also?
please check your webhost to see if you have the one click staging site option, this is a option in most cPanels to create a staging clone of your site so you can test on it and your site will stay up and running. You can always ask your webhost to help you with setting this up if you want.

Here are some screenshots of what it would look like:

    Best regards,
    Mike
