Hi, can you pls help me out. I cannot save any new enfold settings anymore (“saving didn’t work. Please reload, etc etc”), nor can I save a new test page. I discovered problems when trying to index/configure the site with Yoast SEO plugin. The site is live and does not display properly at the home page and some of the other pages. I did a full troubleshooting and identified that non of the other plugins or basic wordpress theme is causing problems. I also checked when using the basic enfold theme (i.e. not our child theme), and the conflict is still there. I reinstalled wordpress to be sure this is not the cause. All plugins and enfold are running on latest updates. Can you help out? Thanks and regards, Maarten

September 27, 2021 at 7:15 am #1322410Hi,
Thanks for that. I tried saving the theme options, but I can’t see any problems on my end. I tried adding a test page as well, and that is working as expected too. Could you let us know how to reproduce the problems you are seeing on your end please?
Best regards,
RikardSeptember 27, 2021 at 10:27 am #1322445Hi Rikard,
Because of the conflicts, we temporarily deactivated Yoast. Just now I activated Yoast SEO again, so you can see the problems.
As a start you may want to change something in the CSS of our enfold child theme layout and try to save it…best regards, Maarten
September 28, 2021 at 5:44 am #1322567Hi,
Thanks for the update, I still can’t see any problems on my end though. I updated the test page with some content, and the theme options saves as expected after changing something in Quick CSS as well. If you should still see the problem on your end, then please try using a different browser, or try logging in with the login details you sent us.
Best regards,
RikardSeptember 28, 2021 at 11:27 am #1322610Dear Rikard,
I didn’t expect that. Makes it more difficult..
I gladly followed your advice and logged in with the login details I sent you and used a different browser (Chrome instead of Firefox). Now indeed I can save a new test page and save changes when changing something in the Enfold CSS field. However, back to the initial problem: If I want to index the site and run the Yoast SEO configuration wizard, I get the error message “The configuration wizard could not be started. The likely cause is an interfering plugin. Please check for plugin conflicts to solve this problem.” This is also the case using another browser. Again if I use a WordPress standard theme, all runs smooth without any problems whatsoever. So the problems are there when having Enfold (Child) active.
Now, even when just opening the site, nothing displays other than a message that a CRITICAL ERROR HAS OCCURRED. Would appreciate your soonest help. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the update and clarification. Do you have any server logs which we could have a look at? We haven’t had this problem reported before, so I’m not sure what is causing it unfortunately, you might want to reach out to Yoast support as well, to see if they know what is going wrong.

RikardSeptember 29, 2021 at 8:55 am #1322749Hi Rikard,
Yesterday the error logs still showed at directadmin. Now that you asked I tried to fetch and there is no single error line to be seen. FYI, band width and disk space are within range. I deactivated and deleted Yoast and did a complete fresh reinstall Yoast. Problem remains. I will reach out to Yoast as well, but please see if there’s anything you can do on Enfold’s theme end.
Thanks and regards, MaartenSeptember 30, 2021 at 5:01 am #1322916Hi,
Thanks for the update. It’s strange that your error logs doesn’t show anything, even though there was a critical error. We would be happy to help you out, but we’re not really familiar with how the functionality you are trying to use in Yoast works, so the support at Yoast would likely be in a better position to help you out with this problem. Please try reaching out to them, and let us know here if you should need any further help from us.
Best regards,
Rikard -
