I’m wondering if anyone else is having the problem of key Enfold files just disappearing from your website’s structure. It’s been happening to my site over the past month.

I am the webmaster for a State of Missouri website. About a month ago, I noticed that several of the custom formats for which I had created Quick CSS were not working, especially custom colors in color sections. Further problems, some with standard Enfold elements rather than my CSS modifications, showed up. The site is hosted on a State server, so I filed a support ticket with the State ITSD team. Last week I received this answer:

“Does someone on your end have ftp file access? The reason I ask is that several files were deleted, causing the errors on the pages. I worked with the file recovery team, and we were able to recover about 80% of the files that affect these pages.”

In fact, nobody on my own team has FTP access. We are forbidden such access by the State.

Things were fine for five days. Then this Tuesday, all the problems showed up again. Because I’d been working on one of the pages earlier in the day, I was even able to isolate the timeframe to a 100-minute slot.

As I work with ITSD to narrow down the root cause of the files disappearing, yet again, I am wondering if anyone else is having this file-vanishing problem. And if you are, have you been able to narrow down why?

Whenever I run into back end problems, I suspect the State server. I never, ever trust it. It has caused problems before.

    Hey missouriartscouncil,

We haven’t had any reports from users having the same problem, so it’s likely local to your site/server. I’m not sure if there is anything we can do to help you out though?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,

Your reply about what turns out to the lack of report on this issue from anyone else on the planet is the help I need! It gives me essential ammunition for the State’s ITSD team. Thank you for your fast response!
