Most of my website is set up using color sections, which contain 1/5 – 3/5 – 1/5 column layout elements. Since the last update or two, my layout is skewing to the left. I believe (but don’t know) that this is because of a new default setting in the columns which allows the initial column to have no height. This seems to be causing the layout to act as though their is no initial column, and the center 3/5 column (which holds text or images) is the first. It would be extremely laborious for me to go through and fix every color section in the site (more than 160 pages and posts), and add a minimum height to every initial 1/5 column element. Stranger still, it doesn’t happen in every color section!

An example page is below. Is this a bug? Is there some global fix I might employ to correct it? Thanks for your help.

    Hey macjeffff,
Thank you for your patience and for the link to your page, I see how you are using empty 1/5 columns to center the middle columns, but I didn’t find any examples on your page where the first column was ignored, I checked with a Windows 10 desktop, 1520px and Chrome. If you see the issue on this page please try to describe the section and what setup you are using. If not please link to a page showing the error.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    HI Mike,
I’m seeing it in Safari on my Mac. I keep my operating system and all software up to date at all times. I cannot see a way to send you a screenshot. Glad you aren’t seeing it in Windows/Chrome–and I’m not seeing it in Chrome on my Mac! I guess it’s a Safari thing. How very strange. Any suggestions? I don’t see a way to send you a screen shot.

    Thanks

    Hi,
Thanks for the feedback I checked on a 21″ Mac, Big Sur v11.5.2, with Safari v14.1.2 and I don’t see the error.
To add a screenshot please try using an image hosting service and pasting the image URL in your post. It looks like you are not using any caching or the Enfold Theme Options ▸ Performance ▸ JS & CSS file merging and compression setting, so please give this a try, enable the Enfold Theme Options ▸ Performance ▸ Delete old CSS and JS files option, and save, then go to Enfold Theme Options ▸ General Styling ▸ Quick CSS field and add a blank space so to allow you to save the theme options again, then
clear your Safari cache, and note step 4 where you should Clear the History, then check your page again. Safari is known to be harder to clear the cache on, so perhaps this is part of the error?

    Best regards,
    Mike

Excellent advice! I did it all, but no luck.

I’ve done a screenshot of one of the pages (private content – Dropbox link). You’ll notice the top of the page is properly aligned, but after the book image/audio file section, the next color sections are skewed to the left. I am using 1/5-3/5-1/5 columns in each color section to create the layout. I really appreciate your help and I am baffled.

    Thanks

And Mike, if you can give me those step-by-step again as separate lines or bullets, that would be great. I was extremely careful, but not sure if I missed something.

    Thank you

    Hi,
Thanks for the screenshot, I’m not seeing that on my Mac with Safari v14.1.2, what version of Safari are you using? You are using a Mac desktop and not an iPad to see this error right?
I don’t think this is a caching issue, but I don’t know what it could be from, the key steps above was to:
1: enable the Enfold Theme Options ▸ Performance ▸ Delete old CSS and JS files option
2: go to Enfold Theme Options ▸ General Styling ▸ Quick CSS field and add a blank space so to allow you to save the theme options again (big blue button) – *this rebuilds the css files
3: then clear your Safari cache, and note step 4 where you should Clear the History
I note earlier you said the you are not seeing it in Chrome on your Mac, so I’m stumped also.
Please let us know what version Mac & Safari so we can compare. I’m asking our team to check on their machines to see if anyone a duplicate.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Fixed!
I had not properly cleared All History. When I repeated the steps above, it fixed the problem. I also restarted Safari for good measure after I repeated your instructions.

    For the record, I am on a iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017)
    Big Sur 11.5.2
    Safari Version 14.1.2 (16611.3.10.1.6)

Thanks for your great (and patient) support!
