    Hi,
Love the theme by the way, but since updating to 4.8.4 it has stopped the colour section (just below my header image on the home page) which contains 3 columns with information and buttons from working.
Please could you let me know how I can rectify this as I haven’t changed any code, just updated. I assumed it was the update to WordPress 5.8 but have rolled it back to 5.7.2 and its still the same so must be the update to the theme.

The website is http://www.lifesupportuk.org and just below the header image there should be button and columns and now there is just white space.

    Thanks in advance

    Hey computereze,

Sorry for the problem. Please send us a temporary WordPress admin login and login URL so that we can have a closer look. You can post the details in the Private Content section of your reply. Also make sure that the Appearance->Theme Editor functionality is active on your installation. If it’s not, then please include FTP login details in private as well.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

thanks you, I have put login details in private for you

    #1311720

    Hi,

Thanks for the login details. I’m not sure exactly what went wrong here, but all your content was visible on the front end. The problem was that the text was white on white background. I added some code to Quick CSS, and changed the colours of the buttons, so it’s visible again. I’m not sure how it used to look though? You should be able to make most settings yourself in the element options, but if you need help with styling, then please let us know here.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,
Thanks for taking a look for me. I have rolled back to 4.8.3 as it now shows correctly. Thank you for putting that CSS in there, although what it looked like before the update is as it shows now… The problem wasn’t with the buttons not showing per se, but that the whole of the 3 columns not showing correctly. As you will see, with 4.8.3 everything is showing as it should rather than the icon boxes (or the 3 columns) not showing correctly with 4.8.4.

Hope this makes sense, but not sure why 4.8.4 is throwing this all out so much.

I second this issue. Color sections appear to lose their color all over the place with the latest update.

    #1312079

I will wait for 4.8.4.1 as is alluded to the update to rectify this in the forums. thanks for your help and hope you can fix it

    #1312081

Some color sections vanished. And mobile sections are being impacted as a result. Not showing up.
For anyone who needs an older, working version of the Enfold theme, go here:

I always keep a backup for this purpose.

    Hi computereze,

Thanks for the update, and sorry again for the problem. If everything goes as planned, then we should have a bug fix release available tomorrow. These problems are very likely due to us having restructured many layout builder on the backend.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rickard,

Unfortunately this fix has not worked… I have 3 websites using Enfold and all the updates to 4.8.4 and then to 4.8.5 knock out any icon boxes and coloured boxes that have been set. I have tried going to each page and updating them to see if that’s the issue, but something has broken this functionality on 4.8.4 and 4.8.5.
Can you look into this please as I have reverted all my sites back to 4.8.3 (the ones that use icon boxes and colour backgrounds). if I haven’t used them the site is working but not for the updated sites.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi computereze,

Thanks for the update, and sorry again for the problem. I’m not sure exactly what is going wrong on your site, but maybe you could hold off with updating until the next release? That should give us time to find the cause of this problem.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    #1313173

    Hi Rikard.
I’m not sure either as there is no extra CSS code for the 3 websites I have effected, but they are the only ones that use a colour block background and icon boxes which are effected.
I will hold off upgrading till the next release, as I’m sure it’s not just me that’s effected.
    Thanks for your help

Hi I have the same problem the background colour of the colour section underneath the iconboxes disappears disappears and If I make a new colour section I can’t add the background colour to the section.

Please let update me if you have a solution for this. Thanks Rob

    Hi Rob,

Please open a new thread and include WordPress admin login details in private, so that we can have a closer look at your site. If you want us to roll your site back to 4.8.3, then please include FTP login details as well, and verify that you have backups of the site.

I have updated to 4.8.6 and this has fixed the issue with the boxes and icons on this website, but not on one other. The other one has 2 colour sections on the homepage and when updated the background colour does not show.

Also with the new update, for some reason it now throws a critical error on the backend of the website and I need to deactivate the wp-mail-smtp plugin… thought this was the issue so installed WPForms which I have never had an issue with and this has the same effect…so must be the update..

    Any ideas please?

    #1314354

    Hi computereze,

Thanks for the update. On which site is the update not working on? Please post admin WordPress login details in private, and let us know which sections are not working.

    Best regards,

Hi, thanks for the reply Rickard.
The 2 websites are: details in private :)
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

    Thanks for that.

Life support site: I’m not sure if this is theme related, does the same thing happen if you activate one of the default WordPress themes?

Doggies site: I see the section you are referring to, but it seems to be working as it should on my end: https://imgur.com/a/EFQchhG. Could you let us know how to reproduce the problem you are seeing on your end please?

For future support requests, please try to stick to one problem per thread.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    #1314766

    Hi Rickard,

    Thank you for looking.
The doggies site is showing correctly because I rolled it back to 4.8.3 as the 4.8.4 and 4.8.5 and 4.8.6 remove the coloured background. is the same problem as the original ticket.

Lifesupport, this happens with all themes and also all smpt type plugins on 4.8.6, but 4.8.3 does not have this issue.

    Hope you have help

    Toby

    #1314767

    for the Lifesupport website:

I have done some digging through debug and get the following error:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 32768 bytes) in /home/lifesupportuk/public_html/wp-admin/includes/theme.php on line 739

    Line 739 of code shows:
    ‘hasPackage’ => isset( $updates[ $slug ] ) && ! empty( $updates[ $slug ][‘package’] ),

Not sure what’s happening here as this has only happened since 4.8.6. nothing else on the site has changed other than the enfold update

    Hope you can help

    Hi Toby,

Thanks for the update and clarification. I see the same thing on the doggies site unfortunately, please keep on running 4.8.3 until we have a new release of the theme available.

About the fatal error on lifesupport: you might need to increase the amount of memory which is allocated to PHP on the site, please refer to this: https://wordpress.org/support/article/editing-wp-config-php/#increasing-memory-allocated-to-php

    Hi Toby,

Thanks for the update. Version 4.8.6.1 is available now if you want to try that out. I would advise that you check the update on a staging version of your site first, to make sure you are not having any problems.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    #1315982

    Hi Rickard,
Thank you for the update and the work put in by the team to get the update 4.8.6.1 out. This has rectified all of my issues across all of my effected websites.
Just out of interest, what was the issue?
    Thanks again
    Toby

    #1316197

    Hi Toby,

We changed a lot of things on the backend from version 4.8.3 to 4.8.4, and some things went wrong there. One problem were weak CSS selectors for example. I’m glad to hear that the problems are gone on your site now though. Please let us know if you should need any further help on the topic or if we can close it.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
