Hi,
Your theme is great and it allows many things.
I am using the plugin “memberpress” and I had to add shortcode <!–more–> in some pages limited partially. But the shortcode does not work for all pages. Some are partially restricted when the shortcode works and some for which the shortcode does not work are restricted completely. How can I do it? Thanks for your help.
NatMay 5, 2021 at 3:35 am #1298390Hey Nat,
Thank you for the inquiry.
Are you using the Advance Layout Builder (ALB)? Please note that the more tag will only work in the default or classic editor, and if you are using the Block Editor, you can use the More block instead.
The documentation might help.

IsmaelMay 5, 2021 at 8:38 am #1298468Hi Ismael, thanks for your answer.
Yes I use ALB. In fact, I wanted to tell the memberpress plugin where on the page it should hide the content from non-subscribers. Is there another possibility (like inserting code in the page) because everything is built with ALB and I don’t want to change. Does the More block integrate with ALB ? I followed the link but I can’t find the answer.
I put shortcode content with the <!–more–> tag in all my pages (with ALB) and some work and some don’t. I have another site made with the enfold theme and everything works like this. I don’t understand.Thank you very much for your help
NatMay 5, 2021 at 4:53 pm #1298648Hi,
For example, you will find 2 links in the private content to an off version of my website: in the 1st link the page works with the More tag and MemberPress can limit at this level (after 2 color sections). In the 2nd link, the More tag did not work even though it was inserted at the same place, so no partial limitation of MemberPress.
Why it works with some pages and others not ? Need help pleaseThanks to you

May 7, 2021 at 8:41 am #1298878Hi,
so no partial limitation of MemberPress.
What do you mean by that exactly? How is the more tag connected to the membership plugin?
We may need to access the site in order to check this properly, but we cannot assure you that we can come up with something. As we have said previously, the more tag is not compatible with the advance layout builder, and will only work with the default editor.

IsmaelMay 7, 2021 at 12:35 pm #1298934Hi,
The More tag is inserted in a shortcode of some page, I will send you in the private content for the example, the ID of 2 pages of the site where the tag has a different action with MemberPress.
In the interface of Memberpress, in settings, you can choose to block the content of the site. Simply select “More Tag” to have the content protected by a rule partially hidden from the public from where the shortcode <!–more–> is inserted.
I understand that the more tag doesn’t work with ALB but in the case of my site, it works on some pages and others don’t, when it should either not work everywhere or work everywhere. All content of my website is built with ALB.Can you give me please an email address of your service? To connect I use the double authentication by the Secupress plugin. I need to create the login with an email address where you will receive the connection link.
I thank you for all the help you try to give me, you are great!
NatMay 10, 2021 at 6:04 am #1299256Hi,
Thank you for the info.
Is it working properly when the default editor is active?
Please provide the login credentials (in the “private data” field) so that we can take a look at the dashboard.
- Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
- Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
- Click ” Create New “.
- Add the email address for the account ( you can use wordpress@kriesi.at ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( to be sure that we have enough time to debug ). - Click ” Submit “.
- You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.
When the issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create an admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.Best regards,
IsmaelMay 10, 2021 at 8:21 am #1299288Hi,
Thank you for your reply.
Impossible to know with the default editor because all my site is built with ALB.
I put an example with the links of two pages in the private content. These 2 pages built in the same way and the shostcode acts differently and the display is different with the same setting of MemberPress. It’s like that for all the pages.
I attach the login details to connect in the private content.I thank you very much for your help

Thank you
NatMay 12, 2021 at 4:13 am #1299784Hi,
Thank you for the info.
The page where the issue is supposed to display is no longer available. Did you remove it? Please create another test page so that we could properly check the issue. Looks like the more tag is actually working when added inside a code block, but it breaks the layout of the page a bit because the plugin inserts another container in place of the hidden content.

IsmaelMay 12, 2021 at 7:55 am #1299849Hi,
Thank you for viewing my website. But no I did not delete the page on which there is a problem, I had just put a temporary image from the rules pages of memberpress. I join you in the private some pages on which the tag more does not work even when it is inserted in a code block. When it works, the connection part is under the white text with blue background and the counter, as in the 2 sample pages of the private content.
Thanks for your help
NatMay 14, 2021 at 9:59 am #1300285Hi,
Did you change the login URL? We cannot access the dashboard using the login form shown below.

I have attached the instructions for logging in to the private content
Thanks a lot
NatMay 17, 2021 at 1:39 pm #1300737Hi,
Unfortunately, we do not have access to the mail’s inbox, so we may need to do the login differently. Additional assistance from the plugin developers may be needed.

IsmaelMay 20, 2021 at 3:45 pm #1301414Hi,
You can now login as administrator in the usual way. Sorry for the loss of time, thanks for your patience, you are great.
I explained everything in the private content, I am aware that you may not be able to help me with this “MORE” tag but I thank you for trying, your theme is great and I would not change it for anything.Thank you for your help
NataliaMay 20, 2021 at 3:48 pm #1301416Oh sorry, I forgot to tell you that to see the problem with the More tag, you should not go on the pages as an administrator but incognito because they are blocked pages for members.
Thanks a lot
Best regards
NataliaMay 24, 2021 at 4:36 am #1301889Hi,
We checked the page below (see private field) and surprisingly, the more tag seems to be working as expected — the content after the more tag is hidden. Not really sure what changed in the builder, but more tag is not supposed to function here correctly. We checked the site on incognito mode to make sure that we are not logged in.

IsmaelMay 25, 2021 at 8:34 am #1302167Hi,
Thank you for visiting the website. But on the 2 pages, the MORE tag does not work in the same way:
On the 1st page, it plays its role perfectly and hides all the content which is after.
On the 2nd page, it does not play any role and I inserted a screenshot in MemberPress to make it look like that, so if I remove the screenshot, you will see that (see the difference of the 2 pages in the private content).
It doesn’t work well on this website because I have another website made with the Enfold theme and it works perfectly on all pages.
Do you have any idea of this mystery?
Moreover, in the 2nd page on which the tag does not work, the SEO can not be done because the tool “screaming frog” does not read the titles nor the H1 and H2 tags because the MORE tag does not work and hides the entire content while in the 1st page the beginning of the content is visible because the tag worksThank you very much for your help,
NatMay 26, 2021 at 11:41 am #1302394Hi,
it does not play any role
What do you mean? The screenshot above shows that the content of the second page after the more tag is hidden. We tried to check the page again today but there is a database error. Please let us know when the site is up again.
Have you tried asking the plugin author about the issue? They should be able provide additional help regarding the problem.

IsmaelMay 26, 2021 at 12:12 pm #1302398Hi,
When I say that “the <!–more–> tag plays no role in some pages”, it is because what you see in the second page is not what is on the page but it is the message recorded in the MemberPress access rules. In fact on some pages the tag plays its role and shows what’s actually there after, in other pages it’s as if it’s not there. I know it’s incomprehensible but that’s how it is. I have already contacted the technical support of the plugin and they think that this is a theme specific problem.
Sorry about the database error, it’s temporary on the site and only lasts a few seconds, about 2 times a day, I don’t know why, you’re not lucky to encounter it.
You can connect, I have kept your valid login and password.
I’m sorry for being a little worried, because I have another site built with the enfold theme and it works perfectly with the tag. I have to buy another enfold theme (I love it) for a third site and I’m afraid I’ll have the same problem. Thanks a lot for your help
NatMay 31, 2021 at 7:52 am #1303099Hi,
What is supposed to display in the second page? Again, this is what we see when we access the second page without logging in.
Screenshot: https://imgur.com/z5kMbFu
The same content or layout is shown in the first page, so we thought that the more tag is working as expected. If the content shown in the screenshot is not correct, please provide a screenshot of the content that is supposed to display in the page.

IsmaelMay 31, 2021 at 10:33 am #1303140Hi,
Sorry, it’s not easy to explain but I’ll try to detail it the best I can:
In the first page, the MORE tag works: offline, you see the color section with a page title in the special heading, then a second color section (blue background) with a text block, an animated countdown and a progress bar. It is just after the progress bar that the MORE tag has been inserted in a code block. What comes after that is just the MemberPress login form that hides the rest of the page content. I hope I was more precise.
In the second page, it should be the same thing we see but the MORE tag inserted in the same place after the progress bar does not work and the whole page is hidden, there is nothing partially visible. (no color section, no title, no text, no countdown, no progress bar). Just the MemberPress login form.
I hope you will see the differences.
You can click on both pages in the private content to see the differences. Thanks for your help, I’m desperate…
NatJune 1, 2021 at 10:55 am #1303381Hi,
Thank you for the clarification.
Did you apply a different membership settings for the pages above, or could you think of any difference between them (membership options, settings etc)?
We can now see the issue, but we do not really see any difference with how the pages are created. As far as we know, they are both using the ALB with a code block containing the more tag. We also tried to set Unauthorized Access Management settings for each page manually but it did not change anything. In the Excerpt Options, we selected the following.
More Tag - This option will show the content before the <!--more--> tag in your posts as the teaser content for unauthorized access. It functions similarly to the Post Excerpt setting below.

IsmaelJune 9, 2021 at 9:01 am #1304814Hi,
I thank you for the help you tried to give me. I’m sorry I’m a little late in replying to you, I tried to do something and I wanted to make sure it worked. So I redid the 20 pages of my website that were not working with the MORE tag and the MemberPress plugin and everything is working perfectly. There must have been a problem in some pages. So I wanted to say it for all users, the MORE tag works fine with ALB. Thanks for this great theme !Best regards
