    Hello dear Kriesi team,

unfortunately, when using the WooCommerce- PayPal Express Checkout -PlugIn does not lead to the execution of the payment.

After contacting PayPal, I informed that the API calls “SetExpressCheckout & GetExpressCheckout” executes, but no API call “DoExpressCheckout” works.
Then I contacted the developers of the PlugIn:
I uninstalled the PayPal Express Checkout-PlugIn, deleted all connections to WooCommerce and then reinstalled and set up the PlugIn. Unfortunately, it still did not work.

Now I tested the functionality with WooCommerce storefront theme – with success.

What can be the issues with Enfold and how can I fix it?
All plugins and Enfold are up to the latest version.
Until some time ago the PlugIn worked perfectly with Enfold.

    Thanks for your help

    Hey a-l-p,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

We are getting an error whenever we try to click the paypal button. Please check the screenshot below.

Please try to deactivate the Autoptimize plugin temporarily and the Performance > File Compression settings, then check the page again. Do not forget to purge the cache after deactivating the plugins.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hey Ismael,

thanks a lot for the answer.
I have deactivated the Autoptimize plugin and the file compression ( CSS merging and javascript merging) and then deleted the cache.

    Unfortunately the problem still exists.

    Best regards
    Andreas

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

We still see the same errors (create_order_error, click_initiate_payment_reject) in the console. How did you add the paypal button?

Please post the login details in the private field so that we can check if further.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismael,

    thank you for your reply.
I use the original WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Gateway. This plugin add the PayPal button.

    Hi,

Unfortunately, we are still not sure what is causing the issue. Additional info from the plugin developers might help. Did you previously use the Webtoffee PayPal express plugin?

Please disable the plugin or remove it completely, then optimize the database and remove any transients that the plugin might have left. This plugin should help with the database optimization.

    Hi Ismael,

    thank you for your replay.

Now I have found the reason why PayPal checkout plugin is not working:
It’s because of the cookie bar included in Enfold. As soon as I enable cookie handling and cookie consent messages, PayPal checkout is not possible. If I deactivate the option, PayPal Checkout works as desired.

Do you have a solution so that I can enable the mandatory cookie bar again?

    Thank you
    Andreas

    Hi,

Glad to know that you have found the issue. It is possible that the privacy option blocks a certain script in which the plugin depends on, but we are not sure which script it is.

We could set the Enfold > Privacy & Cookies > Cookie Handling > Default Cookie Behavior to the first and second option to allow external services to load without the users’ explicit consent or without them interacting with the cookie bar. Hopefully, this will fix the issue with the paypal checkout.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hello Ismael,

thank you so much for your reply.
Unfortunately, setting it to one of the first two options in the cookie handling would not be compliant with the GDPR.
Therefore, I had to deactivate the cookie bar integrated in Enfold and install an external solution. Now the PayPal checkout plugin works without any problems.

Thanks again for the help, great support!!

    Best regards,
    Andreas
