Hi all!
It seems Enfold auto-generates index pages for portfolio categories.
For each category, there is one page of the root domain with the category name, and one with /?avia-element-paging=2 appended. So there, is:
– domain.com/category-name/
– domain.com/category-name/?avia-element-paging=2And these are being indexed by search engines and causing us a bit of trouble.
Can these be turned off, and how to do so?
Thanks for any advice! I’ll leave the specific pages in Private Content if you want to see them.

Thanks for contacting us!
Are you using Yoast SEO? If you are, please refer to the post I shared in private content field and set your category pages to no index :)
Best regards,
YigitMarch 22, 2021 at 4:08 pm #1289662Thanks Yigit.
Yes, I am using Yoast, and I had already executed all steps in the post you shared.
I don’t see these category pages in Google results.
However, Ahrefs detects them and gives me a warning about duplicate content.
Which is why I posted the question. What do you recommend in this situation?
Kind regards,

Sorry for my late reply!
My guess is that warning might be a false positive however unfortunately, I do not have any recommendations but I will ask my teammates in case they have any.
Best regards,
YigitApril 2, 2021 at 12:51 am #1291918This seems to be a very persistent problem!
I’ve just updated a site with a new, licensed and authenticated version of Enfold (4.8.1)
I’ve cleared all the caches, reset the permalinks, and cleared all the transients in the database. The result for pagination is still “https://[site-name]/blog/?avia-element-paging=2” (The real URL is in the private content area)
Like others I’ve applied the various patches recommended — changing lines in wp-content > themes > enfold > framework > php > function-set-avia-frontend.php or even outright replacing the contents of the file with code from pastebin. To be honest I really don’t care and I’m not positive Google does either. But it’s driving my client’s SEO people crazy.
To be clear, the URL for pagination should be “https://[site-name]/blog/2” not “https://[site-name]/blog/?avia-element-paging=2”

YigitApril 2, 2021 at 5:19 pm #1292016Is there seriously no way to stop these category index pages from being generated?
April 6, 2021 at 12:13 pm #1292751Hi,
We are using avia-element-paging to avoid conflict with WordPress’ pagination. For example, if you have blog and portfolio elements on the same page and want to go to second page of blog, without this solution you would go to second page of portfolio as well.
Unfortunately, we do not have a solution for this.Best regards,
