Hi Support, we are reworking one of our enfold themed sites just now and have come up against an issue where we don’t seem to be able to override the archive.php file in order to apply our desired styling to WP category pages.

Is there some magic trick we are missing?

What we’d like to ultimately achieve is to use a masonry layout for the category archive pages.

    Many thanks.

    Nick

    Hi Nick,

There’s no magic trick in trying to override archive.php, you’ll just need to create archive.php in the child theme (or copy the file from enfold to the child theme).
Can you give us both admin and FTP access? so we can check on both files and the backend.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

    Hi Bruichladdich,

Thanks for giving us sufficient access.
I have modified archive.php of the child theme, I just added an extra class archive_container_wrap and it worked properly. (see screenshots in private content)

    Best regards,

    Hi Bruichladdich,

I have checked your child theme, however, I could not find category-news.php, please check.

    Best regards,
    Nikko
