When you load my website in Safari (Mojave 12.1) the color section background video on the homepage doesn’t play. How can I fix this? Website link in private content.
March 11, 2021 at 1:43 pm #1287422Hey mosaic,
Thanks for contacting us!
I checked your website on Safari 13.1 and it works fine on my end. I attached a screenshot in private content field.
I noticed that you are using the latest version of Enfold. Previous versions had incompatibility issue with your WordPress version. Has updating the theme solved the issue? :)
Best regards,
YigitMarch 11, 2021 at 1:54 pm #1287424Hi, ihanks for your help. It does work on Safari 13.1. My issue is that it doesn’t work on Safari 12.1. Could you check it on Safari 12.1?
March 11, 2021 at 4:25 pm #1287476Hi,
I tried setting user agent to 12.1 in Safari however it still worked for me. I will ask my teammates if anyone is using 12.1 :)
Best regards,
YigitMarch 12, 2021 at 1:49 pm #1287679I’ve tested it using browserstack and it doesn’t work. I’ve also tested it using a laptop with Safari 12.1 installed and it doesn’t work, the loading wheel spins indefinitely – I’ve attached a screenshot.
March 16, 2021 at 1:28 pm #1288513Hi,
It seems like no one from our team is using Safari 12.1.
I checked using version 12.1 on browserstack as well and it loaded fine on my end. I attached a screenshot in private content field below.I am pretty sure you might have tried already but could you please try clearing cache again and check if that helps?
Best regards,
YigitMarch 16, 2021 at 4:13 pm #1288560Hi Yigit, I no longer have a browserstack plan so can’t double check. But could you check my website on Safari 10.1 using browserstack? I can try 10.1 for free and it’s not working in the same way that isn’t working on my MacBook Safari 12.1. The video loading animation continuously spins and but the video never loads.
On my MacBook i have tried clearing my cache and it still doesn’t work. Please do try 10.1 on browserstack and hopefully you’ll see what I’m seeing. Thank you
March 16, 2021 at 4:52 pm #1288567Hi!
Using 10.1 on browserstack, I can reproduce the issue.
WordPress core jQuery version was updated to 3.5.1. According to this post – https://jquery.com/upgrade-guide/3.0/, Safari’s current and the previous version should be compatible. That would explain why it does not work on 10.1 but it should be working on 12.1.I will check with my teammates again :)

YigitMarch 17, 2021 at 7:10 pm #1288772Okay! Thank you I look forward to hearing from you with an update.
March 25, 2021 at 4:53 pm #1290408Hi,
I am sorry but I could not find anyone using Safari 12.1 to actually test however I realized that this is probably related to jQuery support. Current version of Safari is 14 and previous one is 13 so I am afraid jQuery 3.x is not supported by Safari 12.
If you would not be able to update macOS version, I think only option is to downgrade WordPress version.
Best regards,
Yigit -
