Hi
One of my blog pages doesn’t display the comments. It is identical, as far as I can see, to others that do. I tried to recreate the page from scratch, in the Advanced Layout Editor, and added the metadata and comments elements. The metadata shows “comments off” despite Allow comments and Allow pingbacks & trackbacks both checked. I have tried turning comments off and re-enabling them, but makes no difference. Please advise.March 3, 2021 at 9:02 pm #1285147Hey pattakay,
Can you give us temporary admin access to your website in the private content box below, so that we can have a closer look?

There is a Vulcan 606 in the bin that was recreated in Advanced layout Editor that shows that comments are off
March 4, 2021 at 9:18 am #1285284Hi pattakay,
Thank you. I checked the website but see no errors. Please deactivate all plugins one by one to check which one is causing this issue and let us know if this solves the problem.

VictoriaMarch 4, 2021 at 11:47 am #1285348Hi Victoria
I disabled the plugins one by one and refreshed the post, no change.
I created a new blog post which showed the comments. I then changed the date to the original date of the Vulcan 607 post and the comments disappeared. I was then able to make the comments show by bringing the date forward to Feb 4th on the original post. It seems to be the published on date that’s triggering this problem, Feb 3rd, no comments, Feb 4th comments are displayed.
Can you explain that?Thank you!

I am not aware of such a date dependence and it should not be.

So what do I do? There is obviously something causing it.
Thanks
KateMarch 17, 2021 at 7:07 am #1288645Hi Kate,
Sorry for the late reply. I tried adding a comment to the post in question, but I’m seeing the same problem on my end as well unfortunately, but I’m not sure why it’s happening. I’ve asked the rest of the team to have a look as well. Please reply to this thread once you have read it, so that it gets added back to our support queue.
Best regards,
RikardMarch 17, 2021 at 12:44 pm #1288718Hi Rikard
As above, the problem seems to be linked to the date, if I set the date of the post to be published to before Feb 3rd 2021, the comments are not displayed, Feb 4th and beyond, the comments are displayed (although they are currently turned off). Thanks
Kate
March 18, 2021 at 3:02 pm #1288999Hi Kate,
Thanks for contacting us!
I edited your blog post and changed the publishing date from 19th of Feb to 3rd of Feb, then went to Settings > Discussion and unchecked “Automatically close comments on posts older than 28 days”, went back to blog post and confirmed that comment section shows up as expected.
Please review your website :)
Best regards,
