    one more question. in my wordpress installation i entered my themeforest name and the API key to receive automatic updates from enfold. that works too, but unfortunately the interface there tells me that version 3.8 is current and that there is no current update, although the current version of enfold is 4.7.

    why can’t it be updated?

    Hi,

    Envato has updated their API and replaced API keys with Personal Tokens. We have implemented those changes in Enfold 4.5 so any version older than that requires a manual update first. So please update Enfold to the latest version – https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-update/ and then insert Personal Token in Enfold theme options by referring to this post – https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/#how-to-generate-a-envato-personal-token :)
