    Hi there,

I am still playing around with how to use portfolio items. When using the content element “masonry” on a page in order to publish the portfolio items I have difficulties:

When using the masonry content element plus choosing “portfolio elemtents” as content I had expected in the frontend to get a masonry showing all portfolio items matching the portfolio categories I have chosen in the settings. But I get someting quite different which I – to be honest – cannot even identify (please check out the screenshots). Or am I wrong and I can display portfolio items solely with the content element “portfolio grid”?

As I am not allowed to provide login data I have added some screenshots of how the frontend does look like, the settings in my masonry content element, my portfolio categories and my portfolio items.

If you need any further information of my settings please let me know! Also if my problem does not become clear…

    Thank you for your assistance!!!

    Hey mai,

Can you try to go to Enfold > Performance, then set the following settings:
CSS file merging and compression: Disable – no CSS file merging and compression
Javascript file merging and compression: Disable – no Javascript file merging and compression
Disabling of template builder elements: Always load all elements
    Hope this helps.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

    Hi Nikko,
    Thanks for the prompt reply!
The first two items had already been set as mentioned above. Thus I changed only the third one.
Unfortunately no change in behavior of the website. Even after emptying cache…
    Any other suggestions?
    Thank you!

    Hi mai,

Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.

    1. Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
    2. Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
    3. Click ” Create New “.
    4. Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( to be sure that we have enough time to debug ).
    5. Click ” Submit “.
    6. You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.

When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create an admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

    Hi Nikko,
As I said in my original post: I am not allowed to provide login data. But I can provide any screenshot of settings you need so see.
    Thanks for your understanding!

    Hi mai,

    I apologize for that.
Can you tell us what’s written in the boxes? (link in private content)
Do you have caching enabled on your site? maybe a plugin or an internal caching (from the web server), if yes please try to flush out the cache and disable it temporarily as it is usually the cause of these types of issues. Also try to disable all plugins temporarily and check, if nothing happens then just enable them back.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

    Hi Nikko,

Just the names of the portfolio categories is in German. Everything else is on English. May you please confirm which of the texts on which screenshot you do not understand? When downloading you can zoom in in case it is a question of font size.

Regarding Caching: I use the ülugin WP Super Cache by Automattic. But also when turning the Plugin off and emptying cache the behaviour in the frontend remains unchanged.
Same when I disable also all other plugins + empty cache + refresh page.

    Thanks!

    Hi mai,

It’s frontend.png, actually I can see the boxes but the text inside the box are too little to read.

    Hi Nikko,
When you download the file you can zoom in. But please find the text also in the private content.
    Thanks

    Hi mai,

Can you try to refresh the permalinks?
If that still doesn’t work, since the most possible fix to the issue does not seem to work on your end and though we understand that you are not allowed to provide login data for your live site but since we could not replicate the issue and we have nothing in which we can work on to try to resolve this issue it becomes really difficult, we would like to request for you (or someone from your team who has authority to do so) setup a staging site for us, so we can look further into this.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

    Hi Nikko,
As I am not sure what you mean with “refreshing permalinks” I did the following: Open Settings > Permalinks. Then changed the “ommon settings” to “plain. Saved changes. Then changed back to “post name”. Saved changes again. Is that what you meant?
After that still the masonry content element does look like in my screenshot frontend.png.

    Hi mai,

    Yes, that’s correct.
As for the boxes, I was expecting it would say something like it was disabled and change its setting in Enfold > Performance, this is the case on some servers where Load only used elements do not work properly, and to fix that, you just need to set it to Always load all elements
However, since that’s not the case on your end, when it comes to issues with links, refreshing the links work in most cases.
I tried to look up for similar issues but I could find none, that’s why we would need to have a staging site where can do further investigation on what’s causing this issue.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

    Hi Nikko,
No – the text just describes the behaviour of these boxes. Instead of the boxes I had expected the portfolios to appear. But the links are not related in any way to the portfolio items. Nor are the pages I can see.

    Hi Nikko,
When re-reading your last reply I am not sure if the description of my problem really was clear: Of course it is a problem that my page does show links which in reality do not exist at all. But what I really am wondering about is why instead of my portfolio (there currently do exist just 2 portfolio items in my backend) items something completely different appears in the frontend. E.g. I had never expected pages to appear there when choosing portfolio items. Do you have any idea about that?
    Thanks!

    Hi mai,

To be honest there’s no issue similar to this and it’s pretty difficult to provide any solutions since we could not reproduce the issue on our end.
If you could give us instructions on how we can reproduce this issue then we could try to provide fix for you otherwise we would really need to have a staging site that we could investigate.

    Best regards,
    Nikko
