I’ve tried the flex CSS solution and added media query elements to get the tabs to stack on mobile. My client rejected everything shown.
“Why can’t you just set it up so you can scroll right and left with your finger?”
    and
“Then, add some small arrows so people know they can scroll.”
At this point, I’ suggesting we may want to NOT use the Tab Section for mobile, but they like it. A suggestion was to use something other than the Tab Section for mobile (using the accordion). The problem is it does not work for this client as they would then have to update all of the content twice. They have eight tabs and use it for restaurant menu items and that content changes frequently.
Just saying, maybe it’s time to put some effort into setting up the Tab Section better for mobile devices? If this is not something that would be possible, that’s fine, just let us know and we can find a different solution.

    Hey spidercreations,
Sorry for the very late reply, this should be achievable with the css “overflow” property, this seems to be a good article with a couple of methods, and another article.
Adding the small arrows should also be achievable with the css and “:before” or “:after” and “content:” here is an example.
Please give this a try, do you have a test page with this element set up the way you would want to use it?
Another option that has been reported to work is to use the WPtouch plugin, although I have not tested this.

    Best regards,
    Mike
