We would like to feature the most recent blog posts from certain categories in different places on our site. Easy, we just inserted a “full-width masonry line” and the posts appear nicely. It’s always either 3 or 4 posts we feature there.
Problem:
The preview images are badly cropped and no sight. Element is located on the homepage.Solution tried:
Sized all images in identical px sizes but that did not prevent the cropping.Objective:
Have uncropped images displayed in the masonry grid.Please advice.

1) As suggested in the support post you were linking, I installed https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-image-sizes/
2) There, I redefined my “masonry” size to 856 x 528 px, which is the size and proportion I have here on my screen. Ticked “no cropping”
3) I edited my image uploaded it to the library in that very size and proportion and set it as “featured image” in the respective post.Still, the image is getting cropped on the homepage using ““full-width masonry line”.
What did I do wrong?Cheers, Jens

Thank you for the update.
The size of the masonry images are now 856x528px, but you do not see the bottom part because of the masonry content, which is currently over or on top of the image. The edges are also cut off because the aspect ratio of the image is not the same as the masonry item container.

Images in the masonry element should be squarish or have an aspect ratio of 1:1 but make them slightly tall to make room for the masonry content in the bottom part of the masonry container. We cannot access the site because there seems to be a database issue.

IsmaelWell.. I couldn’t see how a 1:1-ish image could be rendered uncropped in a 1:1.5-ish container..
Giving up with the fullwidth masonry element here and will be using other content elements – not quite as visually appealing and not automated for updated contents, but they will do the job here..

Thank you for the info.
Last time we checked, the Masonry element is set to 3 columns, which is why we recommended a squarish images. For full width or a single column Masonry element, you should use a wider image. Please note that the maximum size of the default thumbnail used in the Masonry element is 705x705px.

IsmaelYou just logically cannot turn a 1:1 into a 1:1.5 without cropping, can you? It’s just VERY basic numbers.
I close this thread – and not utterly happy, but reasonably ok declare: Enfold and masonry does not really work well. Please work on it. This is not production & sales-ready what you have (I know, masonry and the whole parametric are inherently tricky.)– Otherwise: A brilliant theme!
Support, in this very case, I’m afraid to say, was completely useless with no result. – It’s the code though, I reckon.
