Dear Kriesi,
We have purchased the Enfold theme and there are some site health issues popping up on the Site Health area on which my hosting company mentioned that it could be likely due to a theme issue.
We have deactivated all plugins and the issues are still there.
I’ve also looked through the forum but didn’t find a solution.
We are getting a critical issue saying under ‘Background updates aren’t working as expected
– A plugin has prevented updates by disabling wp_version_check()The other 2 improvements is says:
– A scheduled event has failed
The scheduled event, wp_version_check, failed to run. Your site still works, but this may indicate that scheduling posts or automated updates may not work as intended.– The REST API did not behave correctly…
The REST API did not process the context query parameter correctly. If you could provide us with some support it would be much appreciated.

These are not the theme issues, the theme does not control or affect them. You might want to check WordPress articles on how to address these issues.

I have activated the twenty twenty theme and the critical issue went away.(‘Background updates aren’t working as expected – A plugin has prevented updates by disabling wp_version_check()) although the other 2 improvements still remain which are:
– The scheduled event, wp_version_check, failed to run. Your site still works, but this may indicate that scheduling posts or automated updates may not work as intended.
– The REST API did not behave correctly(The REST API did not process the context query parameter correctly)Could you provide assistance on how to resolve the critical issue? I spoke with my hosting company plus another developer and they said it must come from Enfold as all plugins have been deactivated.
Many thanks,
FilipeDecember 14, 2020 at 4:30 am #1266990Hi Filipe,
Thanks for the update. The theme doesn’t change anything when it comes to the things you are pointing out, but we can have a closer look at it if you send us login details in private.
Best regards,

Thanks for that. I see that same listing in site health on your site, but Enfold is not responsible for that. My guess is that it’s your security plugin which is disabling that, what happens if you disable the security plugin temporarily?

I’ve already diactivated all plugins including the security one(wordfence) and the issue still remains. Thanks for looking,
FilipeDecember 17, 2020 at 5:57 am #1268016Hi Filipe,
Thanks for the update, I’m not sure what it could be then. The theme doesn’t change any settings which could cause that, so it might be added by your hosting provider. Please try reaching out to them to see if they can help you out further.
Best regards,
RikardDecember 17, 2020 at 5:54 pm #1268168FilipeGuestHi Rikard,
Thank you for dealing with Filipe re site health.
Our main issue, which each time we contact our host and developer support is about a loading speed issue.
We’ve been guided to disable the equivalent to the page preloader function.
As we get the orange coloured swirl timer image showing pre any page being loaded.
I’ve been told that once again, this would seem to be an embedded theme feature.
Please would you mind checking the backend again in relation to speed load issues ? as fingers still seem to be pointing back to a theme issue in regards to site and page loading speeds.
Many thanks in advance
OliverDecember 20, 2020 at 5:14 am #1268714Hi Oliver,
Thanks for the update. I checked the speed of your site, and the server seems to have very long response times. That is probably the cause of the page speed problems you are having. If you want to disable the pre-loader in the theme, then you can do so under Enfold->Theme Options.
Best regards,
Rikard -
