The homepage is the only page on this site where this is happening.
We have added you as an Admin… see details in private content area.
The problem occurs when we try to edit the Accordion under Section Titled ” Show Times & Information”Paul
December 10, 2020 at 5:39 am #1266172Hi Paul,
Thanks for the login details. I get the same problem on my end when trying to save the front page. Could you enable debug mode so that we can copy the the shortcodes to a new page, and experiment with it a bit please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/intro-to-advanced-layout-builder/#debug-mode. We can do it for you if you give us permission to do so.
Best regards,
RikardDecember 10, 2020 at 5:42 am #1266173You have my permission to enable the debug mode.
Thanks
Paul
December 11, 2020 at 7:55 am #1266474Hi Paul,
Thanks for that. I tried editing your functions.php file, but it’s not letting me change anything:
Something went wrong. Your change may not have been saved. Please try again. There is also a chance that you may need to manually fix and upload the file over FTP.
Could you share FTP login details as well please?

Thanks for that. I enabled debug mode and copied the shortcodes to a new page, I got the same error message when trying to paste all of the shortcode, but after removing the last code block element, then it works as expected.
I tried adding the code in question to a new page using the default WordPress editor, and the same error message appears. There is likely something wrong with the script, or it might have to be added using a function instead.

Thanks for the update. I can’t see any error messages when saving the first page in private, how can we reproduce the problem?
I do see problems on the second page in private though, the server is throwing 403 errors on some files. Could you reach out to your hosting provider to see if they can see why that is please? If you have access to server logs then please share them with us as well.

I still can’t see the JSON error when I try to update the page in private, but I do see the error message that I referred to in my previous reply:

Could you try reaching out to your hosting provider please? You could try to disable all plugins as well, to see if that changes anything. And install this plugin, and clear all WordPress transients: https://wordpress.org/plugins/transients-manager/. Also please try to activate the parent theme, to see if that changes anything.

I know that the edits are not being saved, it’s likely because the server won’t allow it (403 error). Please see screenshot in private to see what error messages the server is throwing after trying to save the test page. The server is returning a 403 error, that is why I asked you to reach out to your hosting provider. I can’t tell you why the server is responding in that way unfortunately.
I’m seeing similar error messages on a new, almost empty page as well. Please see private. That means it’s likely not caused by the content.
You could try to install this plugin, and clear all WordPress transients, to see if that makes any difference: https://wordpress.org/plugins/transients-manager/

FYI – we decided to roll back the site to a clean and known time when the site did not have these issues. WordPress 5.6 is now the latest version and we are not updating this site until we can determine what has caused the many problems. The site is working fine now, but obviously there is something that caused these problems, so if you have any further ideas please let us know.
Also, I will re-add you to the Users list
Thanks
PaulDecember 20, 2020 at 5:07 am #1268713Hi Paul,
Thanks for the updates. The file your hosting provider is referring to is not a file which the theme would change or add any code to. I tried to check the file in question though, but the FTP details don’t seem to be working anymore. Please see private.
If the site is working as it should now then please keep using the current configuration, and copy the site to a staging site, so that we can try to update there first. Doing it this way then you won’t risk any problems or downtime on your live site.
Best regards,

Thanks for that. I can’t see the problem occurring on the new site though, I edited the Accordion on the front page, changing this line:
1:00 am – 5:00 pm – Rebroadcast – Edited
The changes stick and I can’t see any error messages on the front or backend. Are you able to reproduce the problem on the new site? If so, how?
