    Hi good people at Kriesi
I’m having the above problem on all pages particularly woo commerce product pages – it seems to happen mainly when I’m uploading a pic for a product.
I have tried isolating which plugin may be causing the problem. But if I turn them all off and just activate woo commerce, the problem reoccurs.
It is also a bit intermittent ie if I leave it a while it will reconnect and work for a while then do the same again. Sometimes the freeze happens on login it just goes to a blank page. I believe I’m using the latest version of Enfold and php v7.4
    Can you help please?
    Thanks Steve

    Hey Steve,

Thanks for the login details. I can’t connect to your site though, I get this error message when trying to load the login page:

    504 Gateway Time-out
    nginx

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard
Yes that 504 is all part of the error message I was receiving before. I have been in touch with my host and they say it is a plugin problem. If I turn off all plugins the problem goes, but if I activate just woo commerce it returns.
If you get a 504 and you try 5 mins after you may get in as the server resets. I’m having the same problem too and the site was supposed to go online today!
    Cheers
    Steve

    Hi Steve,

Thanks for the update and sorry for the late reply. The login page is loading now, but the details you posted are not working:

Unknown username. Check again or try your email address.

    Please check and verify.

    Best regards,

    Hi Rikard

Sorry I took those user details off, when I proceeded to try and resolve the problem myself and was able to put a sticking plaster on the problem by increasing max_execution_time to 3000
and max_input_time to 6000 in my php settings. I’m using php v7.4.11
It has fixed the time outs but not really the problem causing them which I really still don’t know.
However it is still taking ages to even preview a page. I find I have to update the page first, else if I don’t, it just keeps spinning for about 5 minutes before previewing. Updating is also slow but not as slow as previewing. Uploading pics has got slightly faster since increasing those settings above (also memory _limit was already on 256m). But is still slower than usual. `
I had turned all plugins off (except woo commerce) and the problem still persisted.
    Regards
    Steve
PS sorry again I posted this on an old post! I need some sleep!!

    Hi Steve,

Thanks for that. Login details are working now, but it takes a very long to for your site to load the backend. I’m guessing that it could be a part of the problem you are having. I can’t see anything obvious going wrong with your site though, could you share the full server logs with us so that we can have a closer look please?

Also please reach out to your hosting provider to see if the can update your SQL server, as WordPress is indicating that it needs updating.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard
Thanks for getting back – I have mentioned the updates to the sql server. They are looking into it (although that was a week ago!)

    Hi Steve,

Thanks for that. I had a look at the logs but I can’t see anything directly related to the theme going wrong, although there are a lot of 500 and 503 errors. Some of them seem to be related to the search and replace plugin, did you try disabling that?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard

I’m still having the same problems although they are intermittent. ie sometimes it’s working fine sometimes it just hangs on simple things like pressing update or preview.

Today the plugin Jquery migrate helper threw up this message re enfold:-

https://……../wp-content/themes/enfold/framework/js/avia_mega_menu.js: jQuery.fn.attr(‘checked’) might use property instead of attribute

    – Could this be anything to do with it?

    Regards

    Steve

    Hi Steve,

Thanks for the update. I logged into your site but I couldn’t see any warnings, where exactly did you see it? I don’t think it’s related to your problem though, since it’s only a warning.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
