Hello,
In blocks of text I cannot make line breaks.
When I work in a block of text and make line breaks, once I save my work, the line breaks go away.
What can be done to fix this problem please.
Thank you in advance for your help.
cordially

Are you entering line breaks like this:
<br />
Best regards,
Jordan ShannonOctober 8, 2020 at 10:56 am #1251368Hey Jordan,
I put line breaks like this: </p>
And like this: <br />But in both cases, when I save the work, both are canceled by the system.
Thus, there is no more line break.October 9, 2020 at 1:12 pm #1251691Hi,
Thanks for the update. I can’t reproduce the problem on the page you referred to, please see the text block I added under the first one.
Best regards,
RikardOctober 13, 2020 at 8:27 am #1252466I added 3 tests
Test1 (with 2 line breaks)
Test2 (with 5 line breaks)
Test3<p> Test1 </p>
<p> <br /> Test2 </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> Test3 </p>But in the result, we see a single line break on the updated page
So I can’t do more than one line break.October 13, 2020 at 9:36 am #1252484if you add those tags with custom class they will not be removed!
<br class="noclear"/>
same with p-tagsOn Enfold 4.7.6.4 the permanent linebreak seems to exists as a button in the tool-bar
and it inserts :<br class="avia-permanent-lb" />
i use for some “extras” this little plugin: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/line-break-not-working-in-front-end/#post-1146117
October 14, 2020 at 4:00 am #1252656Hello Guenni007
Thanks for the info, but I’m not a programmer and I don’t quite understand how to use all of this.
I downloaded the plugin but don’t know how to use it.Additionally, which I use:
this: <br class=”noclear”/>
Or this: <br class=”avia-permanent-lb” />
it doesn’t work either because the system always removes my line breaks. But does all this mean that there is a bug in the Enfold theme?
And in this case, would it be possible to fix it?
This is my work :
After registration :
Thank you again for your help.

October 14, 2020 at 6:50 am #1252680Hi,
Thanks for the update. I’m not sure I understand the problem you are having though, do you want to have more than 1 line break? If so then you might be more comfortable with using the Separator/Whitespace element? Or you can try to add multiple br tags. Make sure that you add them in the text tab in the editor.
Best regards,
RikardOctober 14, 2020 at 8:41 am #1252693Hello and thank you for your response.
I’m actually working on a block of text.
But when I need to make multiple line breaks, the system refuses them.
It only accepts a line break.
All others are deleted. This is not normal as I write articles on my blog and normally if I do multiple line breaks I must have more space between the lines.
What makes the visual more pleasant especially when separating paragraphs.
Now you suggest that I use the Separator/Whitespace element.
But I don’t know what it is.
Can you enlighten me please. That being said, I would appreciate not having to do multiple manipulations when I can do only one of course.
Moreover, even when I add several br tags the system removes them.
October 14, 2020 at 10:32 am #1252729That plugin is if you want to have more than this line-break button – because now Enfold ( or maybe it is a new thing from WP ) shows a button on visible mode:
can you see this:
if you click : Enfold will insert the tags itself (
<br class=”avia-permanent-lb” />
); switch to text mode then you will see what i meanOctober 14, 2020 at 10:57 am #1252736October 14, 2020 at 9:30 pm #1252836Ok great it works.
Thank you very much Guenni007
On the other hand the “Visual editor custom buttons” plugin works well on the text editor but not on the block editor.October 15, 2020 at 1:08 pm #1253004Hi Fabrice3,
Thanks for the update and for sharing your experience. Thanks @guenni007 for helping out as well.

Jordan ShannonOctober 23, 2020 at 3:36 am #1255124yes i would need some help again please.
Because I realize that I have line breaks, but when I use the plugin, and that I use the button that I created, it gives me the space of 2 line breaks instead of ‘a line break.
So that leaves me too large spaces.Inside the text block :

I have 2 spaces when I only clicked the button once to make the line break :

October 31, 2020 at 10:38 pm #1257329Hi,
Sorry for the very late reply, please link to a test page with your line breaks, I believe that your paragraphs are adding extra padding or margin and can be adjusted with some css.Best regards,

This is the test page you asked me : https://formation-mlm-fabrice.com/page-test-line-breaks/
November 3, 2020 at 3:26 pm #1258024Hi,
Thank you, the login you posted earlier seems to be for a different site, so from your test page the<br class="permanent-linebreak">
are followed by another line brake tag:
So, from my understanding, you are using a custom toolbar button in visual mode to add the<br class="permanent-linebreak">
… at this point are you hitting the [return] key to start a new line?
This maybe adding the “extra” BR
If this is not the case, please include an admin login so I can test the workflow of this issue on this test page.Best regards,
MikeNovember 4, 2020 at 1:51 am #1258160Hello Mike,
Indeed, I have two blogs that work with Enfold.
And I have the same problem on both blogs. And I confirm to you that I do not use the return key to start.
I am indeed using a custom toolbar button.
I had to do this because using the return key I didn’t have any line breack.
it did not work.
Even though I did 10 newlines with the return key, I only had one newline.
See the job here :
My work : https://www.dropbox.com/s/62p3r3dcoxriaid/2020-11-03_13-03-50.png?dl=0
The result : https://www.dropbox.com/s/3mz54k5udcauago/2020-11-03_13-04-12.png?dl=0Apparently the problem comes when I use the Advanced Layout Editor
Is this a beug with enfold?
In which case it should be reported for a future update.I gave you my administrator login.
November 5, 2020 at 2:04 pm #1258605Hi,
Thanks for the login, I tested the first site and found that if I disable the “Keep paragraph tags in the Classic block and the Classic Editor” option in the tinymce advanced options the extra BR is removed:
Also, I wanted to point out when you use the “button” for the line brake, please do not hit the [return] key.Best regards,
MikeNovember 7, 2020 at 12:26 am #1258965ok Mike, it seems to be working well this time around.
Thank you very much for your help.
