Hello,
Current versions:
WP: 5.5
Enfold 4.4
PHP 7.4When I update the site to Enfold 4.7.6.3 it breaks how many of our pages look. I’d like to compare what is currently in production to the 4.4 download to assure no one prior to me has made changes directly to the theme. Can you provide a download link to this older version?
Also any insight into why Learn Dash Course Pages may break with update?
September 24, 2020 at 3:28 pm #1248191Hey zwalkcodes,
Thanks for giving us admin access.
For Enfold 4.4, please refer to my response in private content.
I would suggest rolling back your live site to your last backup that worked.
Also, please create a staging site where you can test the updates first before applying to your live site.
Here’s a simple tutorial on how to create a staging site: https://themeisle.com/blog/wordpress-staging-site/
Once you made updates there and see any issues, then please, give us temporary admin access to your staging site so we can look into it and try to help you.
As for learndash issue, please check this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/materials-in-learndash-not-visible-with-alb-activated-another-settings-problem/Best regards,
NikkoSeptember 24, 2020 at 9:06 pm #1248260Hi Niko,
I appreciate the reply. This is my current staging site and it’s backed up so feel free to adjust if need be.
I have the version 4.4, the current production one, and the latest enfold update installed in the themes folder so that you can switch between them by renaming the folders. I’ve attached access credentials in the private area below.
Please let me know when you can take a look.
It appears that all the course and module pages no longer look the same. Misaligned CSS, Heading sticking to top of page, Extra images showing up, etc.
September 26, 2020 at 2:00 pm #1248662Hi zwalkcodes,
Thanks, I have modified one course and one module (link in private content) and it seems to work properly.
I just replaced the 1/1 Column to a Color Section and the 1st Color Section with column inside it, I added a 148px top padding.Best regards,
NikkoSeptember 26, 2020 at 6:02 pm #1248704Hi Nikko,
Thank you. I recognized this as a possible solution but it means I’ll have to go through every single course page to adjust. I’m curious why it happened with the update and if this is indeed the only way to fix (it’s a lot of work!), I’d like to assure it doesn’t happen with every update of the theme.
Kindly,
ZachSeptember 26, 2020 at 6:37 pm #1248708For instance –
Look at these pages listed in private content.
1) There are now double header images.
2) The Lesson Progress [lms_topics] is no longer showing up as before. The breadcrumbs need adequate padding on both sides. (it seems to be this way on every module page)
3) Top padding needed on main course name header – I added 150px on the sweetest love course but the rest seem like they need this adjustment too.If possible, I’d like to find the root cause of these breaks so that it does not happen with every theme update.
Very much appreciate your help Nikko.
September 28, 2020 at 3:13 am #1248896Hi Zach,
I don’t think there’s much change with the columns from Enfold 4.4 to the current version however since there are 3 factors that most likely affected it Enfold, WordPress and Learndash and the changes that come with it over time most likely caused it, I could not 100% guarantee that it would not happen again but I’m certain that our developers are trying their best to still make the page builder as compatible as possible with WordPress and plugins especially the major plugins.
For the 3 things you listed, I tried to log in again with the credentials you gave, however, it does not seem to work now, please check.Best regards,
NikkoSeptember 28, 2020 at 4:34 am #1248908Hi Nikko,
Thank you. I cloned the server over to a different cloud host so it’s a new IP. See in private content.
Please take a look and tell me what you think.
On another note, is there any performance optimizations that can be made with the theme? Whether that mean disabling resource heavy features or anything else.
Kindly,
ZachSeptember 29, 2020 at 10:05 am #1249300Hi Zach,
I tried to login even with the IP you gave but I’m still getting:
ERROR: THE PASSWORD YOU ENTERED FOR THE USERNAME IS INCORRECT. LOST YOUR PASSWORD?
Best regards,
NikkoOctober 1, 2020 at 6:06 am #1249807Hi Nikko –
I re-added that admin account. It appears it dropped off when I switched the server over. Can you please send me the 10 prior versions to the latest? We have 100’s of (courses, modules, lessons, and posts) that this update broke and it’s too much work to go through them all to adjust the layout builder with padding etc.
I’d like to try prior versions until the issue goes away so I will have a good idea of which update caused it.
Very much appreciate your help on this.
October 1, 2020 at 10:25 am #1249837Hi zwalkcodes,
The previous versions of Enfold is in private content, please check.
As for the following questions:
1) There are now double header images.
I have checked the backend and there are 2 Color Sections with background images, the memberium shortcodes you have only takes effect on the inside of the color section.2) The Lesson Progress [lms_topics] is no longer showing up as before. The breadcrumbs need adequate padding on both sides. (it seems to be this way on every module page)
Is [lms_topic] shortcode from learndash? I don’t see it in https://www.uncannyowl.com/knowledge-base/learndash-shortcodes/ however I could see the Learn Progress text above that is generated by it.3) Top padding needed on main course name header – I added 150px on the sweetest love course but the rest seem like they need this adjustment too.
Yes, it would need adjustment on it.Best regards,

October 2, 2020 at 5:22 am #1249969Hi Nikko,
lms_topic is created in functions.php of our child theme. Can you also give me the ten major version releases after 4.4?
Thank you,
ZachOctober 3, 2020 at 1:38 am #1250213Hi stamjoe1,
Please change your PHP version to 7.3 and check if it helps. Most people that have this issue is fixed by switching to this version.

NikkoOctober 6, 2020 at 11:49 am #1250813Dear Nikko thank you very much for your help, its working fine….
Is it updated to the newest version of Enfold?
Is it safe to update to WordPress 5.5.1 ?
Thanks againOctober 6, 2020 at 2:31 pm #1250857Hi stamjoe1,
You’re welcome :)
Yes, it’s updated however I would still recommend having a backup every time before doing an update just to be sure.
Although Enfold is compatible with WordPress 5.5.1 but I can’t say for other plugins you might be using.Best regards,
Nikko -
