good day, I have been battling for ages with this issue.
I have a parent category; https://galoot.co.za/print-and-production/
When you click on that, I can’t get the subcategories to display for that parent category.I have added the WP filter plugin to see if I can get it to work, but still no success.
I can’t see why this is a problem, as almost 100% of online shops has a menu displayed somewhere on the left to make navigation easier between categories.
Please advise what type of a solution can I can try to get this right?September 22, 2020 at 1:57 pm #1247621Hey WynandB,
Thank you for the inquiry.
We couldn’t access the site because of a critical error but there’s no additional info about it. Please enable WP debugging so that we could see the error and provide a fix.

Are you using the Portfolio Grid element in the page? It is possible that the filter only works on the default product archive or category pages, and on the base shop page.

September 22, 2020 at 2:31 pm #1247631One thing I have that I managed to get working more or less is to add a menu with product subcategories in the left, but the menu looks a little lopsided.
So with all the categories, I would just like this to be collapsable / accordion like.
I tried the “advanced sidebar menu” plugin like suggested in another post, but not getting it to work.as per this suggestion https://wordpress.org/support/topic/woocommerce-categories/
The “Woocommerce Advanced filter” that I bought, doesn’t function well at all because when you click on a subcategory, the filter loses the other subcategories.
In short, I just want to make it easy for clients to browse through categories and subcategories in the most proficient and easy way.
The galoot.co.za/shop page is the default shop page.
The galoot.co.za/print-and-production/ is a normal page with product grid and custom sidebarSeptember 23, 2020 at 9:50 am #1247797Update:
I got it working with this ZF plugin https://codecanyon.net/item/zf-wordpress-category-accordion/8849504/support
so now i have an accordion on the left expanding my categories as expected. if you look on http://www.galoot.co.za/shop/
my only problem now is that when going into a category / subcategory, the parent categories disappear instead of showing the higher level categories. There must be an easier way to do this, because all shops who has a bigger catalogue will need to have navigation similar to this, in order to make navigation easier for the clients.September 24, 2020 at 1:38 pm #1248139Hi,
The galoot.co.za/print-and-production/ is a normal page with product grid and custom sidebar
As we have said earlier, it is possible that the filter is exclusive to the archive and base shop pages. It is not usable on or compatible with the product grid element because of this limitation. Please contact the plugin developers for additional assistance.

IsmaelSeptember 28, 2020 at 9:21 am #1248935Hi Ismael, what is the easiest way to get a category menu with all my shop categories on the left using Enfold? I can’t imagine I’m the only person asking this?
