September 16, 2020 at 2:15 am #1246136I did get the below email and I went into my downloads, I see the initial download but I don’t see where there is an upgrade file.
“We’d like to let you know that an update to your item Enfold – Responsive Multi-Purpose Theme by Kriesi is now available in your Downloads page.”
September 16, 2020 at 11:28 am #1246277Hi rachelryerson,
Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.
- Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
- Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
- Click ” Create New “.
- Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( to be sure that we have enough time to debug ). - Click ” Submit “.
- You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.
When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create an admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.Best regards,

September 16, 2020 at 7:51 pm #1246398I just realized I did not give this user admin rights. I just did that so you should be able to get in now and do any edits. Thank you again in advance for your help!
September 17, 2020 at 1:24 pm #1246524Hi rachelryerson,
Thanks for giving us admin access.
I noticed that your WordPress is using the latest version (5.5.1) while Enfold is already outdated (3.7.1), the current version is 4.7.6.3 which contains patches for WP 5.5.
Please update Enfold to the latest version as well and don’t forget to have a backup.Best regards,
NikkoSeptember 18, 2020 at 11:36 am #1246743That was my original question, how do I do the update? I don’t see anywhere to do that.
September 18, 2020 at 11:45 am #1246747Hi rachelryerson,
I apologize for that, please do the following (make sure to have a backup first):
- Login to ThemeForest and download the Enfold theme.
- Right-click over the downloaded zip file and extract/unzip it.
- It should generate a new folder, open it and look for the enfold folder
- Right-click the enfold folder then zip it, here’s a tutorial on how to create a zip file in windows: https://www.howtogeek.com/668409/how-to-zip-and-unzip-files-on-windows-10/ (this should create enfold.zip)
- Log in to WordPress as and Admin.
- Install and activate this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
- Go to Appearance > Themes.
- Click on the ADD NEW button.
- Click on the UPLOAD THEME button.
- Click BROWSE and choose enfold.zip file
- Click the INSTALL NOW button
Best regards,
NikkoSeptember 18, 2020 at 8:58 pm #1246935I am getting this error “Destination folder already exists. /home/hopefree/www/www/wp-content/themes/enfold/”.
These instructions are just to upgrade the theme to a new version correct? Since I already have that theme installed, how do I do the upgrade?
September 19, 2020 at 1:55 am #1246951Hi rachelryerson,
Did you install the plugin I mentioned?
If the plugin is not installed then you can do this instead:
1. Switch to a default WordPress theme like TwentyTwenty
2. Delete Enfold
3. Upload enfold.zipBest regards,
NikkoSeptember 21, 2020 at 8:19 pm #1247456I did that, but I got the same version. I don’t see in my downloads an “Updated” version. I just see the initial download files. Where do I find the files for the new version?
September 21, 2020 at 9:36 pm #1247480Sorry I see it now and got it working. Thank you for your help.
September 22, 2020 at 4:20 am #1247502Hi rachelryerson,

Thanks for using Enfold and have a great day!Best regards,
