Hi Support
How do we fix an issue with DeBugging Error due to Theme conflict with Gutenberg.Went to WP Admin > Appearance > Customise and get this error
There has been a critical error on your website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.
Learn more about debugging in WordPress. So I went to WP Config and changed to True. Then refreshed Customize page and got this error. Which to me looks like a Enfold Theme issue with Gutenberg.
Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function gutenberg_can_edit_post_type() in /home/startpointcounse/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-gutenberg/class-avia-gutenberg.php:563 Stack trace: #0 /home/startpointcounse/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-gutenberg/class-avia-gutenberg.php(423): Avia_Gutenberg->can_use_block_editor(‘post’, true) #1 /home/startpointcounse/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-gutenberg/class-avia-gutenberg.php(458): Avia_Gutenberg->init_force_classic_post_types() #2 /home/startpointcounse/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-gutenberg/class-avia-gutenberg.php(533): Avia_Gutenberg->get_force_classic_post_types() #3 /home/startpointcounse/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-gutenberg/class-avia-gutenberg.php(671): Avia_Gutenberg->force_classic_editor(‘sfwd-courses’) #4 /home/startpointcounse/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(287): Avia_Gutenberg->handler_display_post_states(Array, Object(WP_Post)) #5 /home/startpointcounse/public_html/wp-in in /home/startpointcounse/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-gutenberg/class-avia-gutenberg.php on line 563
The rest of the pages and the live site works fine.
If anyone can help that would be appreciated.

September 8, 2020 at 4:51 am #1244142Hey Dave,
Thanks for giving us admin access however your site is live so I don’t think trying to tweak it is a good idea.
Can you try to create a staging site where we can test further? here’s a simple tutorial on how to do it.
Otherwise, please try to switch from your child theme to parent theme (Enfold)? and check (I advise you to put your site in maintenance mode).
Then try disabling all plugins? and check, if it works, enable them one by one to know which one is causing the issue.Best regards,

I have the site on https://test.davecane.com/wp-adminThe login details are the same.
Cpanel details are in Private Content if you need to look at the file manager.
I’ve deactivated ALL Plugins and the Customize page shows the deBug Error.
Thanks for your help :)

September 8, 2020 at 6:51 am #1244171Hi Dave,
Thanks for providing the staging site and cPanel access.
You can remove now the temporary access and change passwords. In your staging site, I noticed a few things:
1. Using the Enfold theme (4.7.5) works fine, but if child theme is used it does not work (not really sure why, since your child theme doesn’t contain any modification)
2. Installed WP File Manager with child theme also works fine (Enfold still 4.7.5), I have installed the plugin on your live site so you can make changes in Appearance > Customize
3. I updated the Enfold theme to 4.7.6.3, still used the child theme and removed WP File Manager, works properlyI suggest updating Enfold to the latest version, as a temporary solution to your live site #2 is implemented.
Best regards,
Nikko -
