Sidebars on WooCommerce shop over page and product categories

When I disable the sidebar on the shop overview, it also disables the sidebar on the product category archives. Is there a reason for this? Am I setting something incorrectly? If it matters, I’ve added add_theme_support( 'avia_custom_shop_page' ); to my child theme. But I’ve also tried it without this code and it doesn’t seem to matter either way. I’ve been able to hide the sidebar on the shop overview page using CSS but honestly that seems like a sloppy solution. Isn’t there any way to treat these two types of pages separately?
