After the update, only empty page links are included in all special headings h1, h2, h3, h4. You have to edit the page and manually disable links in each header by setting “No Link”.

Why such a problem and how to get rid of it? Now it will take days to edit all your pages.

    Hey creativeopole,
I’m not sure that I understand your issue, do you want to have a special heading link? In my test the special heading link can be set to “manual” and left empty, such as your screenshot, but it won’t be a link, it will be the same as a special heading with no link.
So if no link is set and you don’t want one, why do you need to change them all to “no link”?

    Best regards,
    Mike

We don’t understand each other :) The point is that all special headers on the website have no links set. However, after updating Enfold, all headers in the subpages automatically have an empty link / link active.

    Hi,
I believe I understand, you have special headings that have a manual link option set but the url field is empty, and since the update these now show as empty links :)
Do these have an empty href attribute or are they just an “a” tag inside of the “h” tag?
I tried to recreate this error by using the same setting as your screenshot, and trying different other settings in the special heading element, but I couldn’t. In my tests, the special heading can have the manual link option set and have the url field empty and not create an “a” tag or empty link on the front end.
I would like to investigate this more but it looks like I will need to see your site. I assume you have already tried to disable your plugins, scripts, caching, minifying, etc as normal?
Perhaps you could check your database by adding this line to your wp-config.php just before this : /* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */
    define('WP_ALLOW_REPAIR', true);
    then go to your-site.com/wp-admin/maint/repair.php
    2020-08-23_214551.jpg
    and run the repair.
You could also try a Transient Cleaner plugin, I’m thinking that something was saved incorrectly from the update and perhaps one of these will correct it.

    Best regards,
    Mike

All special headings (h1, h2, h3) had “No Links” set. Now they all have blank links turned on as in the example provided.

Below, in a private message, accesses the page where you can see the exact problem.

    Hi,
Thank you for the login, I checked the two pages that you linked to and didn’t find any “empty links”, on both pages the special headings that have a manual link option set and the url field is empty, and on the front end there are no links, as it should be.

Where do you see the empty links? Please include a screenshot.

    Best regards,
    Mike

The problem occurs when we edit the page. Then the special heading become active.

    Hi,
When you say that you edited the page and this occurred, were you editing this one special heading or just the page in general?
Please explain what change you made so we can reproduce.
Above you wrote that the “worst thing” is that your templates have the links set in your special headings, so I tried to load some of your templates on a new un-published page and they would not load, but it makes me think that the issue is that your template is corrupt and each time you load it you see empty links?
Templates can contain errors that are reproduced each time it is used, in this case the template should be deleted and recreated from scratch.
If the templates are not the issue that is fine, but I wanted to point that out.

    Best regards,
    Mike

When editing subpages, all links that were set to “no link” now have active links. Usually these are empty links. So the problem in this case is that all special heading lines become active.

Another problem is the situation in which the link was once set, then it was turned off. In the past, a special heading was saved and used on many pages as a template. Now, after a few years when this problem appeared and we start editing the subpage, all special headings are active and link to the wrong pages because they have served as a template in the history.

    Hi,
I tried editing your page but no empty links were created, I also tried to recreate this on my localhost but could not.
But it would make sense if the template was saved with links those links would need to be changed if the element is used for a different purpose in the future. Currently, I don’t see that editing the page is causing empty links in the special headings.

    Best regards,
    Mike

So please see the video in a private message. All links that are inactive in the special headings are now active and select them to manually disable them.

I am also sending a page where we have never disabled links in the headers and they probably also got activated there.

    Hi,
Thank you for the video, and the link to the un-touched page.
If you would please note my post above with the screenshot, special headings that have a manual link option set and the url field is empty does not create a link, or an empty link, on the front-end. Since the url field is empty the theme ignores it.
I confirm this again with your un-touched page, I also saved your un-touched page with the special headings that have a manual link option set and the url field is empty and on the front-end no links were created, I have also tested this on a new install.

Now for why these are set this way on your site, I’m not sure, but you did say that these were created from a template, so perhaps that is how they were set when the template was created? I also tried updating a couple of installs on my localhost but I was not able to reproduce this.

Please don’t worry, you don’t need to change them all since the url field is empty the theme ignores it.

    Best regards,
    Mike
