    Hi there.
    I just bought the Search & Filter Pro plugin to be able to filter the results of categories and tags. It works on a page without any other elements, just a page with a code block and a masonry grid below it.
    But as soon as I add elements above or below the code block the search stops working. Anything added below the masonry still works.
    I already tried turning off Ajax search, but that didn’t work.
    Do you have any experience or idea’s on getting this combination to work?

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

    How did you set the Search to work with the Masonry element? Did you set it manually, or does the search automatically alters the query in the page? It’s possible that the search script looks for the closest element that is using a query and alters that one. The search still works when we added a static text below the code block.

    thank you for looking into it. It just worked, so it must be like you’re thinking.
    Any idea why it stops working when I put a new layout element above the code block or between the code block and the masonry?
    Like the 1/1 block that I placed below it with the test text?

    Hi,

    Any idea why it stops working when I put a new layout element above the code block or between the code block and the masonry?

    It might be looking for the closest element that queries the database or maybe alters the main query in the page, so the sorting stops working for the masonry element when an image element is placed below the code block.

    Maybe try to refrain from adding elements between the code block and the masonry to prevent the issue from occuring. Besides, it also makes sense to place the filter right next to the element it’s supposed to sort.

    Hi Ismael,

    Not putting anything between the code block and the masonry is not a big problem.
    We wanted to put a small graphic element there, but we can do without that.
    I can’t put any layout block above the code block though. Any idea why that is and if it can be fixed?

    We’ve tried adding a static text or a text block below the code block and the filter still worked properly. Unfortunately, we are not sure why it stops working when something is added above the filter. Try to make sure that the content of the layout block is static or that it doesn’t query anything from the database.
