Hi Team,
I’m not sure if this is a theme issue, but I’ve tried looking around for an answer and haven’t found anything so I thought I’d start with you. On every page of our website, there is a small black bar with ” /> on the top of every page. I have no idea what is causing it. I’ve tried searching for it everywhere I know, but I’m pretty new to coding in PHP and WordPress so I’m reaching out to your team since you are vastly better at this sort of thing and I’m searching for some help. Please let me know if I can provide you with anything to help you and me find the root of this issue.

Can you try disabling all active plugins to see if the issue resolves?

I have and it does not fix my problem, unfortunately.

Jordan ShannonJuly 28, 2020 at 7:39 am #1233673where does that entry come from?
how is this inserted on that place – via child-theme functions.php
<font style="vertical-align: inherit;></font>
in between you have your “extra sign”PS: there must be more to correct : it is very unusual to have all these entries in the body tag and on top:
style sheets , googlebot , opengraph entries etc. pp. that is something for the head area or – just before closing body tag.July 28, 2020 at 8:56 am #1233697i see that you are using wp-rocket – maybe disable it and then update all caches (including the browser cache) and see if the problem persists
July 28, 2020 at 6:56 pm #1233786Hi Team,
Thank you for all of the help! @Jordan I have included the login info below.
@Guenni007 I am not sure how that is being inserted I do see where the extra symbols are being added in your screenshot, but I can’t seem to find it myself. I inherited this site from some developers who didn’t do a good job, so I don’t know when this appeared to troubleshoot. I apologize I am pretty new at this and just trying to wrap my head around how this was even created.
@Guenni007 I can disable wp-rocket. How would I update the caches after disabling wp-rocket?Jeff
July 30, 2020 at 5:02 am #1234054Hi Jeff,
Thanks for that. I see that there are some customisation done in your child theme to functions.php and header.php. It’s likely that this is caused by the extra code in header.php. Please try to activate the parent theme to see if the problem goes away. If it does then please try to add a fresh copy of header.php to your child, then add the customisation back one by one to see which one of them is causing this to happen.
