Hi,
I found in themes settings where to translate content that explains what a certain cookie is. There is still some English text in my cookie bar and I don’t know how to translate it. On every cookie tab, there is an acceptance slider (Check to enable…Click to enable/disable Google Analitycs…)..Where can I translate that? Thanks for your replay,

Thanks for contacting us!
Please go to Enfold theme options > Privacy & Cookies > Cookie Handling and enable “Modal Window Custom Content” to insert your own custom text.
To translate missing strings, you can use this plugin – https://wordpress.org/plugins/loco-translate/.
If you need our assistance, please create temporary admin logins, post them here privately, point out the strings you would like to translate and share correct translations of those strings :)
Best regards,

I found the “Modal Window Custom Content” and I changed that text already. There is still some text in English. Please take a look at the screenshot I attached.
Thanks.- This reply was modified 4 years, 3 months ago by klara999.
August 5, 2020 at 8:37 pm #1235504Hi,
You can translate it by using this plugin – https://wordpress.org/plugins/loco-translate/. It seems like that string was not translated into your language.
If you would like us to translate it for you, please create temporary admin logins, share them privately and let us know the correct translations of highlighted text in your screenshot :)Best regards,
YigitAugust 7, 2020 at 6:56 pm #1236098Hi,
I am sorry to piggyback on this thread, but I can’t find the option to start a new thread again.
I am using Dutch translations and the text in the cookie modal is in Dutch indeed. So far so good.
However, if i want to customise this text I have to select “Modal Window Custom Content”. When I do so the texts shown in the backend switch to English. If I accept the changes then the texts in the frontend are also changed to English. Deselecting the “Modal Window Custom Content” returns the texts in the front-end back to Dutch again.
Is this a bug or am I missing something here?Best regards, Jan
PS1: if you also could inform me on how to make a new thread, that would be helpful (Edit: In the meantime I found out how to create a new thread)
PS2: please find attached the credentials for the subject siteAugust 10, 2020 at 11:58 am #1236415Thanks, Yigit,
I added the plugin that you suggested, but I don’t know how to use it.August 12, 2020 at 1:57 pm #1236973Hi,
@klara999: Here’s a quick tutorial about the plugin.
// https://optimizerwp.com/documentation/how-to-translate-theme-using-loco/
You can also replace the default text with your own by wrapping the content around the shortcodes. Just go to the Modal Popup Window Content fields and look for the privacy toggles or shortcodes such as the av_privacy_allow_cookies or av_privacy_accept_essential_cookies. You can translate or change the privacy toggle description manually by wrapping them between the shortcodes.
Example:
[av_privacy_allow_cookies]My translated privacy toggle description here[/av_privacy_allow_cookies]
@Jan_FtFA: You can follow the same instructions for your own installation.Best regards,
IsmaelAugust 12, 2020 at 6:50 pm #1237128Hi Ismael,
Thanks for your reply. I also added the plugin you suggested, but I don’t think this is the way to go.
May be my problem description is not clear.
The Enfold theme does already provide translations of the texts in the Cookie Modal. The theme detects my language settings and provides Dutch text in the tabs in the cookie modal, however, it does not do this in the Enfold Theme options / Privacy and Cookies. If I select the option “Modal Window Custom Content” under Cookie Handling then the contents of the different tabs are shown, ready to be altered, however they are in English and not in Dutch. So in the frontend all is fine but in the backend the Enfold theme defaults to English, when “Modal Window Custom Content” is selected, despite my language setting being Dutch.
So my questions is: what needs to be done to make the Enfold theme options under the “Modal Window Custom Content” default to Dutch?
You can see this phenomenon on the test site (see credentials in my earlier message). In the footer of the site there is a link “Cookie Instellingen” (under “Overige Informatie”) where you can easily open the Cookie Modal. If you now switch “Modal Window Custom Content” on and off you will notice the language switches from English to Dutch

JanAugust 14, 2020 at 5:26 am #1237659Hi,
Thank you for the clarification.
You have to translate the content manually if the Modal Window Custom Content because these entries are already saved in and fetched from the database. Since the default custom content is in English, it will display in English initially.
When the custom content option is disabled, it will just display static text from a template (themes\enfold\includes\helper-privacy.php) which can be automatically translated in the front end without getting anything from the database.
Best regards,
Ismael -
