Need help please – changed permalinks and pages are not working

I’ve updated permalinks under Settings -> Permalinks to replace /index.php/ in page urls and now pages are not loading. Tried reverting and same – pages that used to be https://hostname/index.php/page-name/ are redirecting to https://hostname/page-name/ which is resulting in 404. How can i resolve this and at least point the pages to https://hostname/index.php/page-name/ ? Is it possible to edit permalinks of individual pages? If there are rewrite rules, how can i access these rewrite rules ?
