Hello,
I’ve been updating my child css and noticing that it’s being overridden by some VERY OLD style definitions.
I tried adding this to my child function:
add_filter('avf_merge_assets', function() {
return 'none';
});
I tried flushing old css and js, purging my caches locally and on CDN… but I still get these old definitions overriding my new ones. What should I do?
see here: the ‘helvetica’ h2 is the old code. https://imgur.com/a/rKvvz3C
Hey Itai,
Are you running any caching plugins? W3 Total Cache for example?
Best regards,
Jordan Shannon
Hey Jordan,
Yes I am: W3 Total Cache . But I purged all the caches on that plugin multiple times
….also: disabled it but the old code is still there.
Hi,
Thanks for the update. Could you post a link to where we can see the actual problem on your site please?
Best regards,
Rikard
Sure, here: https://heaven11audio.com/billie-stereo-intergrated-amplifier/
In this case, it’s the h2 element, but I noticed that there’s a lot of the old css within the page
Cheers,
Itai
Hi Itai,
Can you disable caching and minification for now? This way you can see where the old styles are coming from.
Best regards,
Victoria
Hi Victoria,
I disabled W3 Total Cache completely and emptied my Cloudflare cache. As far as I can tell it hasn’t changed anything. Very strange.
….I would like to get caching going again as this a busy time for our site…
Cheers & thanks,
Itai
Hi,
Thanks for the update. The CSS is coming from the file in private.
Best regards,
Rikard
OMG Rikard! Thanks so much for figuring that out. I completely forgot about that file.
You can close the thread now. Thanks for the great support.
Cheers,
Itai
