In the private content I’ve added a video to clarify the problem.
We’ve got a masonry grid set up with category taxonomy.
In this we have selected 5 categories the user can choose from on the page, but when the user visits the page, not all categories that are chosen are showing on the page.
Hey xsbyte,
Can you give us temporary admin access to your website in the private content box below, so that we can have a closer look/
Best regards,
Victoria
Hello,
We’re processing user data in this website, we won’t be able to give access to the live site, we can make an export of the page if that is an option for you?
Hi xsbyte,
The thing is the sort works like this: it gets the number of posts that you set to display, the posts are from the categories you selected. If one category has more posts that are more recent, more of them are fetched from the db. So the posts are fetched and the sort options are rendered based on the categories that these posts have. When you press the “Load more” button next batch is fetched and there can be posts from another category also selected by you so the category appears in the sort options. So this is why you might think that the sorting is wrong but it is the way it’s built to work.
Best regards,
Victoria
Hi Victoria,
Thanks for your explaination. The sorting isn’t really the problem.
The taxonomy-filters that are supposed to show there, are not showing, even though they are selected. They should show, even if there are no posts to show them in.
Hi xsbyte,
If there are no posts in the category, the filters will not show up. This is how it’s built. If you need different behavior, you can customize the component or look for a plugin that provides the desired functionality.
If you need further assistance please let us know.
Best regards,
Victoria
