Hello,
I had this same issue a few times now. My website keeps reverting back to squares instead of arrows. On Chrome it shows up as squares and on Safari the arrows appear fine. The last time I had this issue, I updated the theme and cleared the cache and this was resolved. However, after trying to do the same fix this time, it didn’t work. I wanted to report this issue/bug as this is the 3rd time my website has reverted to squares instead of arrows.

I can’t see any missing icons on my end using Chrome, did you try loading the site in an incognito window?
Best regards,
RikardMay 25, 2020 at 9:21 pm #1216286Hi Rikard,
I tested my site on Chrome again, on a MacBook Pro and two Mac Desktops. On the MacBook Pro and one of the Mac Desktops, the squares show up – the squares show up instead of the arrows that are in between each section of the website, and the squares replace the icons. I can send you a screenshot if you can provide an email?
The strange part is that on the older Mac desktop, the squares don’t show up on Chrome and the arrows and icons show up fine.
I cleared the cache, and made sure Chrome was up to date. It still shows up with squares on 2/3 of my computers. I’m not sure what to do at this point. As I mentioned, this is a problem that keeps reoccurring with my website. Any other suggestions?
Thanks again for your time.
May 26, 2020 at 6:11 am #1216381Hi,
Please see private for what I see on my end. If the icons are showing up correctly on one machine then it’s very likely that you are getting cached results on the others where it’s not working. Did you try loading the site in an incognito window in Chrome?

It’s strange, the last time you had mentioned the Incognito window I had tried it and I had had the same results (still seeing squares). I had also emptied the Cache on Chrome and still got the squares. This morning I went through the exact same process again, opening the site in the Incognito window and clearing the Cache and now it’s showing up fine. I can see the arrows and icons and there are no squares.
I’m not sure why my website would have showed cached results after I had resolved the issue the last time by updating the Theme? It had worked fine for weeks then had reverted back to the look with the squares. Strange.
May 27, 2020 at 8:21 am #1216845Hi,
Thanks for the update, I’m glad that you got things working. It was likely local caching which caused your problem, since I couldn’t reproduce it, and it was only present on some of your machines.

What’s strange is this is now happening with another one of our websites which was built with the Enfold theme. Same deal, the arrows and icons have been replaced with squares. It only appears that way on Chrome, and in Safari the website looks fine. I wanted to report this in case this some sort of bug/glitch as I’ve had this happen a few times now with this particular WP theme.

Thanks for the update, but I can’t reproduce the problem on my end using Chrome. Please see screenshot in private.

RikardJuly 17, 2020 at 4:50 pm #1231312Hello,
This seems to be a recurring issue for our website. Sometimes the issue is temporarily resolved by updating the template, clearing the cache and cookies, etc. but the issue keeps happening. I checked our website on Chrome, Firefox and Safari today and the website only looks fine on Safari.
On Chrome and Firefox, instead of arrows and icons, it shows as squares (on Chrome) or it shows up as a small square with “EB77” inside (Firefox).
I’m getting quite concerned with the WP template as this issue is recurring frequently. If you can assist or come up with a solution, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time.
July 19, 2020 at 7:54 am #1231531Hi,
The font is being blocked by the browser for security reasons, please see private. This has nothing to do with the theme, it happens because the resource is being loaded via a CDN. Please try turning off the CDN, or add headers to allow the resources to be loaded from that location.

I turned off the CDN for 2 of my websites and you are correct, removing the CDN resolved the graphic issues. Thank you!

Both of my sites are working properly now that I’ve removed the CDN from both sites. Feel free to close this topic. Thanks again for your assistance.
