I’d like to use the tab section element in the body area of a page like http://nlsla.wpengine.com/services/program-areas/health/ (hosted on WPengine) but I need to keep the automated Page Sidebar navigation in-place (not below the tabs). Is there any way to prevent the tab section from going full-width — any way to keep the sidebar in-place and not have it drop below the tab section? Thanks!

    Hey sky19er,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

The tab section is a full width element, so it will always push the sidebar underneath it. We can change the default markup but we will have to change multiple files in order to accomplish it, which is not really recommended. Have you tried using a different element such as the Tabs or the Accordion?

    Best regards,

Ah, too bad. The content my client wants in the slides involves icon lists and columns with extra formatting, etc — it’d be too much shortcode to use in those other elements like Tabs or Accordion; the client would have too much trouble making updates — I need something that uses the ALE. Can you think of another element that works more like the tab section in that sense; that uses the ALE? Thanks!

    Hi,

Have you tried using the tab element? It’s one of the few elements that can contain other elements inside, so it’s possible to add icons and columns, but you have to add the elements manually using their respective shortcodes. You can also try the Content Slider element.

    Best regards,

Thanks, but it’s too much shortcode — the client would have too much trouble making updates — same with the Content Slider. I need something where I can use the ALE, like the Tab Section element — that’d be perfect, if I could just keep the sidebar. Oh well, I’ll try to figure out something else. Thanks anyway.
