Hi!
I want to change some strings in sliders that I created using Layerslider. According to the documentation here I should be able to use the String Translation, but when I try this, there is no Layerslider Sliders option in my dropdown.
I can’t create multiple layersliders per language, since I am using the Translation Management option in WPML. That only let’s me translate strings of text within the page, not options like changing the Layerslider for another language.
Can you help me translate the text strings of the Layerslider Slides on my website?
Thanks!

Thank you for the inquiry.
You can check out the following documentation about layer slider translation.
You have to install the plugin’s String Translation module.

That was the documentation I was trying to refer to but I now see I did not add the actual link :)
As I said I am using string translation, but the strings for the layerslider are not there. Now what to do?
Regards, Daniel
May 25, 2020 at 9:29 am #1216052Hi,
Thank you for the update.
Did you create the slider prior to or before installing the string translation module? It’s possible that the text or the layers in the slider were not added to the string translation database. Can we access the site?
This thread might help: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/translate-slider-text-layer/

Thanks, that thread is talking about another slider plugin SmartSlider.
I am not sure which I did first, but that shouldn’t matter right? I have given you access to the site, credentials are in the private section. Hope you can help!
Cheers, Daniel
June 9, 2020 at 9:04 am #1220771Hi,
Yes, it matters. The string translation management has to be installed first before creating the sliders. To test it, we created a new slider and added a text layer to it. This text is now registered in the string translation management. (see private field)
Unfortunately, we are not really sure if you can manually register the text inside the existing sliders. If not, you will have to re-create them from scratch. For additional assistance, please contact the plugin developers.

Thanks for these insights! I see that if I duplicate the slider, it will show up in the String Translation. Learned something!
Cheers, Daniel
