    Hello!

I did a re-design of my existing blog and have the following problem.

The original block posts are showing meta elements (comments, author, share this, etc) at the bottom as defined in the theme options:

For blogpost where I just adjusted the content by using the Layout Editor and then saved the post, the meta elements will not shown at the bottom:

Any idea or suggestion why this happened and how to fix?

    Thank you
    Wolfgang

    Hey Wolfgang,

That is the default behaviour when using the Layout Builder to create your posts, everything needs to be added manually to them. Most elements can be added using the Layout Builder, or the Magic Wand tool if you want to use the default editor instead. If you use the default editor then your will get the layout you want, you can also try to use the Layout Builder, then switch to the default editor once you are ready to save.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,
unfortunately, this is not working. By changing from Layout Builder to Standard editor, there is no content included. If I save with standard editor, then the blogpost is showing meta elements, but without the content.

By editing the blogpost again and changing to Layout builder, then the content ist there as it was before. That’s spooky :-).

    Any suggestion to that?

In general, I do not have a problem to change all blogposts by using the layout builder as default, so that the meta elements will be shown as defined in the theme options.

    Best wishes
    Wolfgang

    Hi Rikard,

do yo u have any advice why the content is gone by switching form Layout Builder to Standard Editor?

For me it makes sense to use the Layout Builder. Using the Standard Editor with the Magic Wand Tool is ineffective as for each change of a media element there is no chance for adjusting the elements. I need to create every time this element new.

This need to be fixed soon.

    Best wishes

    Hi Wolfgang,

Content is gone when switching because editors are using different templates and the logic of work is different. You need to stick to one editor, either use the Classic Editor or the Advanced Layout Builder.

You can create custom shortcodes and add them to the Advanced Layout Builder built posts.
Please have a look at the following thread:

If you need further assistance please let us know.

    Best regards,
    Victoria
