    Hello ,

As you can see my website http://www.envirocrete.org.za was developed on the Enfold – Construction theme , by an incompetent developer , that customized the theme (it is not responsive any more for example) and then handed over to me full control on the WordPress Dashboard. So now I own my Website and in the need to make a few critical changes changes but I don’t have access to Enfold Theme nor access to request support nor to recieve regular updates. What can you do to resolve this problem and what must I do?

    Thank you

    Hey Roberto,

Sorry for the problem. The first thing I would recommend that you do is to purchase a license so that you have access the theme files. You can get your license here: https://themeforest.net/item/enfold-responsive-multipurpose-theme/4519990

After that then you can use your purchase code to register on the support forum: https://kriesi.at/support/register/

Also please read this on how to register your new license: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Roberto,

    Thanks for contacting us!

    Answers to your questions below:
1- Some developers purchase the license for their customers. We recommend developers who work this way to to give purchase code to their clients (so you can register to our support forum and start a thread whenever you have a question or an issue) and register the theme (so you can receive future updates from WordPress dashboard and can update the theme with a few clicks). Your theme is currently not registered. If you can contact your previous developer, please ask them to give you your purchase code and a Personal Token – https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/ so you can update the theme and contact us whenever you need however this way you still will not have access to theme files. That is why Rikard recommended you to purchase a license as licenses are tied to Envato/ThemeForest accounts used when purchasing the theme.

2- No, but since they have not shared your purchase code with you and that we only provide support to our registered users which requires a purchase code, we are currently unable to provide you support.

3- Since your theme is not registered, we cannot really comment on that however you should have access to all features but only miss updates and support.

4- You would need to compare files to see if they are modified however if your developer can provide you a Personal Token, you can simply insert it in Enfold theme options and update the theme and that would overwrite all theme files.

5- Each domain requires a new license except for following cases:
    – You have 2 installations on subdomains such as site1.domain.com & site2.domain.com
    – You have created separate installations for different languages such as domain.fr & domain.co.uk

I am not 100% sure if that is possible, but if your previous developer can send you a copy of the license, you can contact Envato support and ask them if it would be possible to transfer the license to your account – https://themeforest.net/licenses/terms/regular.

I hope that helps! Let us know if you have any other questions :)

    Regards,
    Yigit
