Hi,
I love the idea of having the ability to save an element as a template for a quick easy way to add these to other pages. I have used this on many occasions.
My only gripe is that should I need to update the template I would need to edit one of those templates in use on one of the page using it and re save the template, deleting the old one. However doing this does not update the the other pages where that template is also in use.
Is this something being planned for or has it already been rolled out, as I have seen some posts dating back a few years requesting a similar feature?
Is there a better way to do this perhaps so we can streamline the updating of pages that have the same elements used on them, like a central repository that could also identify which pages are using it. This is very similar to the footer page template we now have.
Cheers
John
Hey John,
I’m not sure if it’s exactly what you are looking for, but the Page Content element should let you do that? Please try that out to see if it works out for you.
Best regards,
Rikard
Thanks Rikard,
I’ve had a look at that and can see how it could be used and will play with it some more, the idea is similar but think my previous suggestion on the templates would still garner another value add to the enfold theme and allow more flexibility.
Also, is there a wiki or how-to on setting up and using the page element?
Cheers
John
Hi John,
Thanks for the update and sorry for the late reply. We don’t have any documentation on that unfortunately, but the it’s pretty easy to use. You can simply create a new page and add content to it, then if you use the page content element then the layout of your new page will be added to the place where you put it.
Best regards,
Rikard
