Hi.
I was wondering if it is possible to link social media buttons to different social profiles – we have 2 facebook acounts for 3 different countries. At the moment we have 3 languages (polylang) on the website (EN, GER, SI) and I would like to link FB account nr1 to the social media (facebook) button when EN and GER language is chosen on the website; and FB account nr 2 to the social media button when SI language is chosen.
So:
If GER or EN language is chosen on the website I would like that the social media button in the Header and Socket links to FB profile 1;
If SI language is chosen on the website I would like that the social media button in the Header and Socket links to FB profile 2.
In the end it is the same button which should perform an operation in regard to which languagee is used on a website.
I hope you get the idea of what i am trying to say.
Thanks!
Hey enfoldMB,
Sorry for the late reply, there is two ways to do this and both will rely on polylang adding a language class to the site, which I pretty sure it does.
So for the first option, you will have one FB social icon in the header and socket and we will add a jQuery script that will change the url based on the language class.
The second option is you will have two different FB social icons next to each other with their own links, and we will hide them with css based on the language class.
We will need to see your site to write this for you, which option do you prefer?
Best regards,
Mike
