GuestHello,
In december 2016 I bought 1 Enfold license and build my first Enfold website. I did not think about licenses after that point, because it was the first time a bought a license from Envato Market and I was used with other themes (GeneratePress) to pay once and be allowerd to use the theme on multiple websites.
So the last three years I build 4 other websites with the Enfold theme, but without buying any new license! Not because I want to cheat on your guys but because I honestly didn’t know.
Until last week I became aware that I have to buy 1 license for every website I want to build with the Enfold theme…
Now I do have some questions:
– How is it possible that I can just buy Enfold once and then use it on multiple websites? That means you guys can not check this? And you just have to hope that everybody buys a new license for every new website?
– Not only am I able to download and install the Enfold theme again and again, but I also am able to login at my Enfold support account, aks questions there, and receive help. So why would I pay then for extended support?
Again, I have no intention to cheat I just want to know how this thing works…)
I am mailing you anonymous because I don’t want to take the risk that my client websites build with Enfold (without license??) are blocked or something like that.
I hope to receive an honest answer soon and I promise to pay everything I should have payed in the first place :)
Thank you very much,

Thanks for reaching out to us. A few years back then we didn’t really have much implementation for checking the validity of a license, that has changed in recent versions though. I’m guessing that the versions you are running are a few years old at least?
In general you have a valid point though, it’s very easy to simply purchase one license and then use it on several sites. There is not much we can do about that except for the precautions we have already taken unfortunately. Piracy and behaviour like that is wide spread in this type of business, and there’s not much we can do about it.
The big thing you are missing though if you don’t register your theme is that you won’t receive automatic update, you will always have to do them manually.
We appreciate that you reach out to us to clarify things like this though, and I hope that you will purchase licenses for all your sites.
Best regards,

GuestHello Rikard,
I am using the latest Enfold versions. I am also able to automatic updates my Enfold sites (with an Envato token).
So how’s that possible?
One other question: I am building a new concept very soon where I am going to sell “ready-to-use” websites to photographers. I want to build this with Enfold. Now when I would have 50 clients for this project I ques I would have to buy 50 licenses, correct? Or is there any discount possible in a case like this?
February 10, 2020 at 5:44 am #1182926Hi,
Thanks for the update. I’m not sure to be honest with you, but that should not be possible if you are running newer versions which use the new token system from Envato.
Most developers who sell sites using Enfold buy licenses as they go. They build new sites and once they are sold or ready, they simply purchase a new license. It sounds like that would be a good model for you as well.

GuestHello Rikard,
Today I received update messages for my 4 Enfold websites. To be complete:
– I have bought 1 Enfold license (will buy the other 3 today, promised!)
– I have 1 new Envato private token which I have entered succesfully on all 4 Enfold themes/websites
– On all 4 websites i also have the plugin Envato Market installedWith this setup it seems to be no problem at all to receicve automatic updates for all 4 Enfold thems/websites with just 1 Enfold license.
Just to let you know, but maybe you already know and this is just how it works: you guys just have to hope people are buying enough licenses?
February 13, 2020 at 3:20 pm #1184167Hi,
Thanks for contacting us!
Actually Envato API can detect if Personal Token is used more than licenses purchased so we would not recommend doing that :) Some agencies who have many licenses of Enfold would not like to generate a separate token for each installations so we do not limit :)
Best regards,

GuestHello Yigit,
I don’t understand your answer; do I have to stop usibng the Envato token, or stop using the Envato plugin?
