Hi – I’m, caught between needing a site to run on PHP7+ and maintaining IE9 compatibility. The old site was run on PHP 5.3.3.
Updating WordPress caused the theme (3.8) to throw a lot of errors in page and post editing and updating the theme to 4.7.1 has “broken” the IE9 compatibility. No errors but the page looks very different with unloaded images, wrongly sized images in carousels etc.
I believe the latest version of Layerslider isn’t compatible with IE9 either so that has not been updated.
I wonder if an earlier version of Enfold might be less of an upheaval? For now I have reverted the site to the old server but include edited hosts file information in the private area.
Hey thumbdesign_OT,
That version is not compatible with the newest versions of WordPress unfortunately, and your PHP version isn’t either. Did you try running it with WordPress 4.9 for instance? It might work, but I’m not sure it will.
Best regards,
Rikard
Enfold 3.8 ended up working with PHP 7.0.33 and WordPress 5.3.2–en_GB.
Seems the PHP version was the deciding factor.
