    Hey there Enfold team!
I must admit, that I really have some troubles understanding the process of registering a version of Enfold. I think you could easily help me.

    Am I right with this:

    1. You buy a copy of Enfold and get a license key. This key is needed to register for this support forum and has no other job, right? When you create your personal API Token at the Envato Portal, you put that into the “Update theme” tile in the Envato menu. So this token is needed one time only, like the key, right?
    2. Once entered the Token inside your version of the theme, you can be sure to get “lifetime” updates for this single copy? And the license key, or better the registration for this forum, expires after 6 months, right?

    But what if …

    1. … your WordPress gets scrambled or you have to put the site up from scratch or you move to another server or something similar happens. In short: You delete Enfold from your http://www.example.com Webspace, maybe even use another theme and want to switch back to Enfold some weeks later. Can you use the same token then? Or will it not work? How does Enfold know, that this token belongs to this single installation?

    2. … your 6 months of support are over – can you log into kriesi.at/support nevertheless but never post a thread anymore? And what if you have another licsense key, because you bought another copy of Enfold? Can you use that new key with your old registration/username?

    3. … you want to buy, let’s say, five versions of Enfold cause you have to design sites for 5 different customers (and you buy them, not the customer). You just generate five different token, name them after your customers so you don’t confuse the token, put them inside the enfold installations and tell the customers, that they are all set with updates for the next years?

    4. … you use (I won’t, I’m just curious) any copy of the theme you have used before for another website, but without entering the token of course. Would it work? Besides the fact, that there never will be any option to update that version?

Questions about questions – Light up my mind please!

    Hey!

    Thanks for contacting us!

Yes, you are right with your first two assumptions :) Here goes “what if” part:
1- Yes, you can do that and use the same token. You can even delete Enfold from one domain and use your “free” license (since you removed it from one domain) on another domain. Enfold does not know which token belongs to which installation. Envato API compares how many licenses you own and how many tokens are active on installations.

2- You are still able to use our support forum even when your support expires. We did not want to limit our users capabilities when their support expires. It is of course more ethical to extend the support period once it is over but you can still use our forum even if you do not :)

3- Yes, once you insert valid Personal Tokens in each installation, they should all receive auto updates.

4- Yes, it would work but you will not receive updates.

I hope i could light up your mind :) Let us know if you have any other questions!

    Best regards,
    Yigit
