Before applying the recommended update to Enfold theme, I would like to make sure my current PHP version will be OK.
Planning to migrate to PHP 7.x but currently limited to PHP 5.x
    Any help welcome

    Hey crepindany,

It depends on which 5.x version it is, the minimum required version to run WordPress on is 5.6.4 so it would have to be that or higher.

    Best regards,

Still running WordPress 4.7.1, current PHP version is limited to 5.5 on our host. I have to wait our IT crowd to migrate the Web server to a new host.
By the way, in the compatibility list of the Enfold theme, I can read that the current version (Enfold 4.6) is compatible with (among others) WordPress 4.6.1. Would you recommend me to upgrade Enfold to version 4.6?

    Hi,

We always recommend using the latest version of the theme. Current version is 4.6.3.1 but we will be releasing 4.6.4 soon so you can wait for that version and update the theme, WordPress and PHP version :)

Provided that I can’t control the pace at wich the IT crowd will migrate to PHP 7, is wise to only update Enfold to the current version. All in all I only want the Avia edito to work again. As long as Avia does not start anymore, I’ll have to postpone all page updates requested by the customer.

    Hi,

With your current PHP version, i am afraid you still will not be able to edit pages on the latest version of Enfold. You would need to upgrade to at least PHP 5.6 for that.

    Best regards,
