I know that this has been in a thread, but y’all always say to start a new thread or start a private thread, so… in my client came back to me and wants me to completely update their site (now take it WP 5), they were concerned about WP 5 so we hadn’t made the plunge. The site does have an active API key, and all other plugins are up-to-date. I didn’t realize that the LayerSlider wasn’t up-to-date since it isn’t with the other plugins (silly me). It is saying I need to activate it and provide an API key. I thought this was provided with my purchase of Enfold… let me know if you need credentials, etc.

Hey ribit,
The Layer Slider that comes with Enfold does not need to be activated, it is fully functional as it is. The updates come with Enfold updates. If you want to use the premium features or have the Layer Slider updated as the update comes out you can buy the license for the Layer Slider.

I am running the latest version of Enfold and yet it shows that I need to update LayerSlider (it also says it is NOT Activated).
So I don’t know what to do…

Hi Robin,
The version included in the theme won’t always be the latests one since we don’t update at the same rate as the plugin does. This notification can be ignored though, all you have to worry about is to update the theme itself.

RikardI’m two versions behind and WordPress recommends I that I cannot update to WordPress 5 unless I update this plugin, so I hate to be a pest, I just want to be sure this won’t break my theme if I update.

Hi Robin,
You can update WordPress. The update processes are independent and this plugin will not affect your WordPress update. The Layer Slider will be saying that it is not activated all the time, if you want it activated you need to buy the license.
