hi!
Here is my problem:
I’ve installed the Blog Post Element on a page. The first post in the list (it’s a test) is titled “Test post link”.
when viewing the page, In the Blog Post Element, the title doesn’t display. Instead the title displays the text as “Read More”. The post’s title doesn’t display. How come?In the post editor itself, I have selected the post type “link” and put the link url at the top of the post content field.
what the heck am I doing wrong? Seems like a no-brainer and yet it’s malfunctioning. Perhaps I need a brain?
Kind Regards.

Could you post a link to where we can see the problem you are having please?

See link etc below. I don’t understand why the title is being listed as “Read More” instead of the post’s actual title.
October 14, 2019 at 4:58 am #1147697Hi,
Thanks for that. I don’t know why that would happen either, but I activated the Enfold Layout Builder on the post in question and saved. It’s working as expected after that.

RikardOctober 14, 2019 at 4:27 pm #1147865Thanks! Weird huh?. Also happening on another site, but now I know what to do.
All best,
DougOctober 15, 2019 at 1:25 pm #1148065Hi Doug,
It seems a bit weird yes, but as long as it’s working I guess :-)
Please let us know if you should need any further help on the topic.

RikardOctober 15, 2019 at 9:19 pm #1148211Hi Rikard – thanks for your help! and I want to check with you about how the post type link is supposed to function. Currently when you click on the post title, displayed in the Advanced Editor Blog Posts element, it sends you to the post itself rather than the link target.
Maybe it doesn’t work within the Advanced Editor Blog Posts element?
When I compare the behavior of the post type link title here: https://kriesi.at/themes/enfold-2017/blog/ with mine, they don’t function the same. Darn. I know this is supposed to be super simple, so it’s probably frustrating to both you and I :)October 16, 2019 at 11:57 am #1148424Hi Doug,
Thanks for that, though I get a 404 error on the news page. Where can we see the problem you are having? Also, are you saying that clicking the title of your posts on the news page doesn’t take you to the correct post? If not then please try to explain a bit further.
Best regards,

October 16, 2019 at 5:55 pm #1148549Ouch sorry Rikard – we changed the slug since last time. Thanks for hanging in there with me on this.
Some background:
The blog is displayed in the Blog Posts element on the News page.
The first 2 listed posts are both “Post Format Link”. They are linked to outside websites.
I believe this means that their titles displayed in the Blog Posts element should simply go to the outside website. NOT to the post itself.
My titles erroneously go to the post instead.
For an example of correct behavior, go to Enfold’s demo site: https://kriesi.at/themes/enfold-2017/blog/
Then click on the post title “This is a post with post type “Link”
See how it goes to an outside site? And NOT to the post itself?
That’s what I want my two test posts to do. It’s a basic WordPress function that isn’t working here. Thanks Rikard.
October 17, 2019 at 8:21 am #1148810Hi Doug,
Thanks for the explanation. When using the Layout Builder to create posts, it’s unfortunately not possible to select the Link format. You would have to use the default WordPress editor if you want that functionality. You can still import elements from the builder though either by using the Magic Wand tool, or copying shortcodes into your post.
Best regards,
Rikard -
