Hi
On one of my sites, I notice that YouTube video element do not always display preview image.
What’s weird is that it behaves differently according to browsers.
Presently, it doesn’t display on Firefox, displays on Chrome and Edge but not in incognito mode.
Furthermore, on Firefox and private Chrome, if you click the black video, it opens the video on a new page, but in mobile Chrome, touching the video loads the preview (YouTube frame).
I tried disabling plugins and there is no cache at this point.
More weird, I run other websites on Enfold which don’t have this issue (but they are on another host…)
Can you help me please?
Even a preview image ( youtube thumbnail ) is against GDPR (DSGVO) – only if you are willing to download those images and present self-hosted is a safe way.
By the way – Borlabs Cookie (vers.2) has that option to show thumbnail by downloading the files to host it yourself.
Forget about my message, I solved it.
Actually, it was a cookie consent issue, somehow I had disabled some settings in Enfold cookie consent feature in my Firefox,
which explain why the issue was only on Firefox and, I realised later, only for me.
For incognito mode on Chrome/Edge, it was because the cookie was not present at first, when I accepted it and reloaded, it worked.
I’ll be more careful next time.
